Cat Saves 4 Year Old Boy from a Dog

I hate to say it but there is part of me that feels the dog should be put down. To attack the boy like that, so viciously and completely and unprovoked. At the very least it should be kept chained up so it cant get to anyone again.

I saw this last night. Cats can be protective.

Dog is going to be put down! Saw it on the news tonight

Not to judge, but did that mother run away from her son?

That cat should get a medal for bravery! Or at least they should do something to honour the cat. Good kitty!

That was amazing!

Ah, the dog was part Chow.

I'm not surprised. They're often vicious.

Way to go cat! That is why my cat still has her claws.

Also. The thing is we don't know why the dog attacked. Was that the dog's property? Is the dog rabid? Neglected? beat? Why was the dog not being supervised? Was the dog seeking revenge? did the kid previously hurt in some the dog which made him go nuts?

Wow! Talk about creating a narrative for the situation based on no evidence whatsoever.

Apparently the dog came back around from that direction and she chased it off again.

That is why I am asking questions. :whatever:

Roll your eyes all you want to. Your making accusations, not asking questions. Portraying that kid as the possible aggressor based on what we see here is absolutely absurd. If there was a story out there then fine. But to just throw that suggestion out there is unnecessary.

That is why it was in a question format... and the last I asked.. along with several others...

"Was that the dog's property? Is the dog rabid? Neglected? beat? Why was the dog not being supervised?"

if the dog is to be put down, I would like to know why he did what he did.

Putting a question mark after a statement doesn't make it a valid statement. What you're actually doing is putting it out there as a possibility.

If I spot a couple walking and I just blurt out "What if he beats her?", the question mark doesn't give it any legitimacy. Your statement is equally ridiculous and purposeless.

What ?
My cats has their claws because it is animal cruelty and barbaric to remove them....
Is it even allowed to remove them in your country ?

This cat is a real fatal fury, it even made the news here in France.

It seems fairly clear (though I could be wrong) in the video the kid is riding his little bike up to his house/townhome. The dog hears the noise around the vehicle and comes around and attacks. The kid is small enough that there is no way he could have previously tormented the dog. Most likely he was terrified of it and the dog sensed the fear.

I really feel bad for the dog. Unless he was rabid like someone mentioned then it just wasnt raised to be social and should have been kept locked up, its more the owners fault then the dogs.

Yeah the front claws are allowed to be removed for in door cats in the U.S
My neighbors had their indoor cats front claws removed. But my cat is allowed outside. So she needs them for protection.

Agreed. "Removing claws" is just a more pleasant way to describe what is actually amputation at the first joint.

What can I say, some dogs are just plain mean. Luckily that cat was around and had the bravery to come to her adopted family's aid.

I see, I still think it's barbaric whatever the cat stays indoor or not.
My cats use their front claws to scratch themselves, to catch food or the stuffed toys I have to play with them.

More questions can also be asked.
Was the dog tormented by other people? Perhaps by his owners? Did the dog every fight with any other dogs in the area? did the dog ever bite any one else? Does the dog get daily walks? is the dog allowed to socialize? was the dog fed that day? watered that day?

Because this is learned behavior. There may be a history of neglect and fighting. Also if the dog is not allowed to socialize on a normal basis.. this can cause negative behavior throughout their lives.

I don't think any questions are purposeless. Especially if it's dealing with putting the dog down, and making sure this doesn't happen again. After seeing a video like this. I get very emotional. I love both kids, cats and dogs.
I think of questions like fireflies. I randomly catch as many fireflies as I can. Some bright, some not bright. But the whole idea was to get as many as I can. Because in the end they will all be caught eventually.
