Catholic School Bans Myspace

It doesn't make you look better, its just a better ending.:yay:

I have true stories that have a "better sounding ending."

I know you're lurking, Devil. How about you post a true story about the real Storm.

I don't see how a private school doesn't have the right to dismiss a student that publicly tarnish its image? How can a private school be bound to keep a student that publicly embarrases the institution?

ahh see that part there, thats where your arguement fails, unless the student has named/bad mouthed the school public or private on his/her myspace then the school cant do jack about what a student does in there own time off school grounds

once the student starts saying things about the school then they have the right to step in, in no way before

Your college bans websites?

Its possible they do from school computers. When I was in college, I remember nothing more infuriating than your cpu crashing and going to a lab only to find a bunch of *******s taking up all the computers for AIM. Now with Myspace, and facebook, and all that crap it must be worse.

Pretty much, all those sites are banned. And its funny, I get kicked off if I'm on the Hype for too long too.:csad:

Can you access Myspace and Facebook and whatnot from your private computer in your dorm?

What we need to do, is locate some of the myspace pages of these students, save the information, pictures, etc. Once they take down their page out of fear of suspension, we jump on the opportunity to grab up the same name, and post up the same profile info and pictures, but then add in a ton of content making fun of catholicism, in as offensive a manner as possible. Suspensions galore!
holly gingermen batman! i wanna help :D
PM me :D

if the hype has taught me anything is that cultural differences make bad jokes.

if the hype has taught me anything its that you shouldnt learn life lessons from an internet forum for comic books.

and, since i clearly have to spell it out to you, my very sarcastic comment had a point: the idea of banning children from myspace to protect them from molesters is just as ridiculous as the idea of pulling them from church to protect them from pedophile priests.

I don't live in a dorm, but yes, you can. But I think thats mostly due to the fact that dorms services are outsourced to companies.

Colleges should allow access to any site IMHO...I can understand blocking things in High School, or public schools...but you're paying for college...how can they block ****?
