I have waged a long fought war with ads on the hype. I browse with different web browsers, particularly Opera and Firefox (sometimes IE) to try and help make sure the ads are ok for the hype. sometimes they are not. sometimes they play music too loud, take up a whole page, script errors etc.

I understand that many recommend Adblock to help. I also understand that not everyone has the ability, particularly if they browse at work.

SO that being said, here's how you can help:
If you experience any ads that give you difficulty on the hype, please post about them here!

SCREENCAPS are crucial in helping with this. If we can show the tech gurus what the problems are, it will help them and find them and hopefully fix them.

let's fight these ads together, yall!!

Yeah... will do soon. Usually they're car or stupid phone game advertisements.

Today, the current REI Cyber-Monday bumper ad at the top appears while the Hype forums remains a white screen for 30 seconds before it loads. My computer also goes crazy with tons of activity happening thanks to Adobe Flash-player going nuts. Pop-up blocker does nothing to stop them.

I have a MacBook with a Safari version 6 browser, fyi.

Thanks for trying to tackle the problem, CC. I realize there's not much that can be done if the Hype is to remain free.

Just got a virus from SHH.
This is happening again and again and it really needs to be addressed and fixed.
It's actually the second time I've gotten it by SHH in the past month.
It's not happening on any other website I go to.

I have AdBlockerPlus installed, and it usually blocks around 25-30 ads per page. For here, it's blocking 11. In other words, it seems like ABP does the job it's supposed to everywhere but here.

I love the site and have been a long time poster, but it's not going to be worth it for me if this continues to be an ongoing thing.

Can we do something about the Star Wars Digital Edition ads appearing on every single page?

    Man, it's getting worse.
I had Google Chrome and had to uninstall it specifically because of this site.
I have AdBlocker Plus installed as well as MalwareBytes.
So I switched to Internet Explorer and it's happening all over again.
    PLEASE FIX THIS. :cmad:

At home this site is fine, safari user...

But, on my phone on wifi/data using safari and it's terrible. No other site but some news bloggers have ads like this place...

What is going on? It's impossible to read anything when every page your 'x' an ad.

Please, do. The Star Wars ad is terrible--one of the worst I've seen. It makes navigating this site, from one's phone, impossible.

I also never have had that ad up - glad I found this thread, there are a couple ads that have drove me nuts over the years. None currently - will post if one does get the better of me though :-).
