This is a continuation thread, the old thread is [split]514413[/split]
I only saw First Class because of the reviews.
I thought Civil War was a very emotional film. Different strokes though.Just my opinion
I'm a more emotion-driven person. That's why I enjoy the X-Men Universe more than the MCU. I don't want to raise a controversy on here but, I loved all of the emotional scenes on XM:A. Which in my opinion is something Civil War lacked. And don't get me wrong, Civil War is an amazing movie. I had lot of fun. But in the end it was just a fan-fest. No further substance. Besides the scene of the reveal of what happened to the Stark family, no more feels within the movie. Just action and fun (which again, nothing wrong with that).
lol cmon man
the last 2 Cap movies were not the happy go jolly MCU films trend
and folks loved it
TDK wasnt either and its one of the best CMB films ever , and recognized as the best of among reviewers
Days of Future Past came out after The Avengers and got very good reviews from the vast majority of critics. How do you explain that?
I thought Civil War was a very emotional film. Different strokes though.
Civil War was no more a fan-fest than Days of Future Past was and I bet you loved the film. I myself liked Days of Future Past. I liked Civil War's handling of characters more though because important characters didn't feel like a glorified extras the way they did in Days of Future Past.
I saw First Class for how dreamy McAvoy is.Same here, I actually missed it in theaters but went out and bought the blu-ray because of reviews
And I was greatly disappointed in critics and angry at my fellow fans for that
lol
I still don't understand why this rating.
In the past 16 years, I have got emotional over a superhero movies like 7 times. The Incredibles, First Class, The Winter Soldier, Civil War, Man of Steel, and multiple times with TDKT.Im not referring about go-jolly MCU trend.
I loved Winter Soldier and Civil War.
My point is that the X-Men Universe, specially on Bryan Singer's movies (and First Class of course), there are too many moments where you really feel immersed with the characters. On XM:A you'll see couple of gut-wrenching scenes with Magneto. A beautiful scene between Charles and Moira. Several nods and flashbacks to X-Men First Class... overall they use what they have built and makes you actually feel something. Which for some reason doesn't happen to me with the MCU. Whenever I watch a MCU film, I enjoy it while eating my popcorn. And that's it. MCU is great. Awesome movies. Still (and again, I speak for myself) haven't got me the feels I've got with the X-Men movies.
It is the new, "its not deep enough" thing. It isn't even clever in that regard. What the hell does that even mean? Fan fest? Wut? Are the makers of the film fans? I would assume so. Is that what it means?
lol pls the critics dont care about that at alllack of respect and use of the source material (poorly appropriating classic characters and making them disposable or simply using them as a visual prop and nothing more).
Nothing with DOFP? That movie hit me in the feels so hard...In the past 16 years, I have got emotional over a superhero movies like 7 times. The Incredibles, First Class, The Winter Soldier, Civil War, Man of Steel, and multiple times with TDKT.

Well I did cheer when Storm died... probably louder then I should have.Nothing with DOFP? That movie hit me in the feels so hard...
a poorly written script

singer is solid with an ensemble but not the best at action. there has been nothing close to the level of action or choreography as we have seen in a MCU or DC film.
same basic outline as the other films : young x-men learning powers (no adult team action) and fighting magneto in the third act...again.
It is the new, "its not deep enough" thing. It isn't even clever in that regard.
My favorite scene in First Class is not an action scene, it's the Rage and Serenity scene when Charles is trying to help Erik develop his powers.
Storm wasn't good either
winter soldier and civil war are best MCU has produced.i gave good reviews to both film in their section when they came out.only thing that really irked me on civil war was spider-man since spider-man is my second favorateIm not referring about go-jolly MCU trend.

Love that scene as well. As a momma's boy that stuff hit me really hard. I am a Charles fanboy, so the showdown with Shaw works on many levels for me.My favorite scene in First Class is not an action scene, it's the Rage and Serenity scene when Charles is trying to help Erik develop his powers.
