OK, a while back I was talking with some folks and I posed a question to them. If you decided to go out and fight crime next week (no superpowers or anything) what would you look like?a nd I challenged them to design it.
So I have decided to answer my own question, and I had fun doing it.

I'll post my pic and reasons first, then I challenge everyone to do their own.

First thing I want to say is that alot of research went into this design... all elements of it are things that not only exist, but things I could easily obtain without suspicsion.

I figured the first thing I wanted is a helmet. most people don't think about it, but honestly... would you really want to be put out of the fight by a bonk on the head? No it would be embarrassing.
for my helmet... it would need to be padded inside and sturdy outside... and I actually found a couple of folding helmets that offered some interesting prospects... keeping that function in my mind, I designed from there.

next I knew I would want eye protection, so the helmet must have an eye shield, of course if I'm gonna be working mostly at night then... well I couldn't afford high tech night vision goggles, so yellow night driving lense goggles could do just fine... and poof no damage from flying debris or broken glass etc.

I don't want a broken nose or jaw from a hit, so why not do something like the face shield on a hockey mask... But not one they could grab and pull on... so I went with a tactical helmet grid.

I wouldn't want to be wearing a gas mask all the time, but I would prefer to not be incapacitated by smoke, or tear gas etc... so inside the nose and mouth cover is a thin membrane of breathable material that affords some bit of protection, and muffles the voice.

next, a neck collar, so no knives can slit my throat, and no baseball bat cracks to the back of the neck. Its built onto the spine protector attached to the suit. all of this affords extra protection while not limiting movement... and to save space later, it folds in half along the middle much like the helmet.

the body protection is a kevlar vest with metal plate inserts covered with tactical armor and a motocross protective top. This allows plenty of flexibility and protection.... they also cover the boobs so you cant tell my gender. Some custom exo rib protectors are attached to the spine cover too.

the gloves are actually impact lock finger protection gloves with wrist guards. No broken hands here... plus no fingerprints, and some protection against burns and such.

the pants are baggy black fatigues, with knee and shin guards beneath them ( keep an empty cloth bookbag folded in one of the cargo pockets) keep the pants tucked into a pair of steel toe, and steel sole combat boots.

so, fights over and you need to blend with the crowd?? NP.

duck out of sight shortly, untuck the pants from the boots, take the helmet off, detach the neck guard stick em in the bookbag ,throw on a hoodie put some ipod headphones around your neck , stick your hands in your pockets to deglove... and just walk around with the bookbag over one shoulder.

Last note to put in... weapons

collapsible baton
stun gun
two guns
clips including, rubber bullets, pepper bullets, and other alternative ammo for them.

and that Is what I would be looking like. All while looking plenty stylized and spooky with my skull like helmet design.

interesting idea and concept, I like all the rationale behind it

good manip too

Great job I like!

ive actually been thinking about this for a little while now and think I have a cool idea - may sketch something out as I dont have enough time to really manip something
