Changing Words Across tHE pOND

Yeah, fanny gets used a lot up here too. I mean, a general insult we use is "You're a pure fanny, man.". Fanny in Scotland also means idiot, as well as vagina.

what about bollocks? its that just like bs or another swear word? ive heard it in many connotations...

Sod off and buggery both refer to bum sex. :yay: Well, gay bum sex.

Pissed in the US means mad, in UK, drunk. I've got a million of them. :(

Sod

The meaning 'sodomite' is a little old fashioned. More typically it's used as a softer form of 'fool', 'idiot', or 'bastard'.

He's a daft old sod, but you've got to love him

From
http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=sod

because no1 really uses it to refer to sodomy any more its like the word bugger it doesn't really get used in its original meaning any more

bugger is a very mild swearword nowadays

you still cant say it pre watershed and they never show the episode of friends when Emily told some woman to bugger off

I remember that in the 80s here in the US.

they said it again in some film a couple of years ago and its come back into general speech but most people dont exactly use it alot its generally dumbass teenagers

Exactly, they're pretty common so I'm surprised he hasn't heard about them.
