Chapter 19 - ".07%" - Clip(s) & Discussion

so if Linderman is the one behind the explosion and is munipulating everthing, does he know about future hiro?

if he does then that means future hiro must be on his side:wow:

Dear God, am I the only one seeing how blatantly they ripped off
Watchmen
? I mean, its just incredibly obvious, and moreso, sickening. Unless its a total swerve and its just a reference, or a fakeout clip filmed JUST for that event (doubtful).

Sounds like they did rip it off but I doubt Linderman sees a better future like he says. It sounds interesting to see how this plays out. He could be using Nathan since hes easily convinced of anything.

I think it's kinda funny how people are *****ing about Watchmen parallels/ripoffs, whatever. Anyone who's seen any DBZ knows that Hiro is essentially, Trunks with a sidekick. Then again, by today's standards, Watchmen, is sacred, and DBZ is cool to make fun of, so, meh. I'm a fan of all 3; I could care less, honestly.

Everything, from New York being a focal point to, good characters gone bad, secret societies, run by "supers," having a main character with a double-consonant name; its all been done before. Hell, several different books are doing it right now, at the same time even, and have been for years! No need for anyone's panties to be in a bunch.

Back to topic though, after re-reading the latest graphic novel, I get the impression that, Dallas, Austin, and Loredo, are Papa Petrelli, Linderman, and Kaito Nakamura. If you read the little of Dallas' letter we can see, it mentions a son taking his first steps, making Nathan about 39. We already know that Linderman and the elder Petrelli were acquainted, probably became great friends once he saves his life after the ambush. In "Parasite," Linderman says that many have tried to kill him before; if he's got the ability to heal others as well as himself (not passive regen, like Claire.) it could explain what he meant. At the end of the comic, we don't know who else besides Austin and Dallas survived, since it was spoilered, but I'm assuming at least 2 of the other 3 made it, and formed "the company" posing as Texas-based Primatech, since all of their code names were Texan cities.

Linderman and Petrelli probably leave the company together, not liking what's happening in Primatech (perhaps it was started with one ideal, and went another way due to some group vote or something) Linderman has different, "morally grey" methods of achieving their shared utopic vision, after all, if he is Austin, he is a healer. We already know that he sees the explosion in NY as a necessary evil a greater good, or at least that what I've surmised from the little bit of info we've gotten for this ep. Petrelli, being involved in law, or maybe just doesn't like the path his friend is taking, can't stand it anymore, and is about to turn on Linderman, and possibly expose the company, Linderman has him killed, which brings us to the present. This is all speculation of course, but it'd be cool if some of it turned out to be true. April 23rd is gonna take forever...

I think this is gonna be the greatest thing since... Well... ANYTHING! I can't wait.

Just checked the Primatech website. Since Primatech was formed in '62, 6 years before the 'Nam mission, "the 5" couldn't have founded it. Still, there's nothing saying that the people behind Primatech didn't assemble this group, as sort of a test run to whatever they planned on assembling supers for, assuming it wasn't always a "search and destroy" sort of thing. Unless, of course, Linderman and Petrelli bought out Primatech, post-war, seeing as how it'd have made a good public "face," and the covert stuff happened then. I'm continuously linking the two of them to the formation of "the company" because I can't see how Angela Petrelli could be so involved with everything now, unless Papa Petrelli filled her in, the same way HRG tried to with his wife.

There was only one person in Watchmen with powers so far .07% of the population has powers

Interesting, so how many people do have powers? THe number is hard to guess and I doubt they'd copy Watchmen. Conpiracies in comics isn't just a Watchmen thing. I do hope that Kring has read Watchmen.

Maybe if Kring hasn't Loeb has and is passing along suggestions. :)

Isn't the .07% referencing
the amount of people killed in NYC due to the explosion relative to the population of the world

Anyone have a youtube link to those?

Linderman definitely has powers. If you poke around the NBC site, you can find a clip for ".07%" in which Linderman displays a touch of his powers, or you can just read the spoiler below:

Linderman has the ability to revive things, be they either dead or dying. In a clip from ".07%" he walks over to dead flowers in a pot and with the wave of his hand, they return to full bloom.

^^ These new previews are getting me even more pumped for next Monday!

Watching these clips has made me wonder something..............Is DL even part of this show?!

:whatever:

Anyways.

Has anyone else noticed Neo (Matrix) in the previews? :p

Check time 01:10 in the clip posted by fu manchu.
