Charisma Carpenter talks on being in running for Wonder Woman

I hate to say it, but I think it's unlikely it will be her.

For one thing, she's nearly 40.

I don't think her age would really be a problem. I think for some characters, you need a slightly older actor to play them so audience goers don't feel like a kid has been thrown into the role. But also, Charisma doesn't look her age at all either. Also, if people like Halle Berry can be around this age and still fit into outfits like that Catwoman get up, even though the movie sucks, and kick butt as Storm, then I think Charisma can pull it off.

As long as it won't be Kate Beckinsale, I'll be happy.

That's true, but Warner Bros will be looking at, at the very least, a trilogy here. They'll want an actress between 25-35, I'd imagine. Halle Berry can get away with being slightly older because she's a top box office draw.

unless they want this one to go straight to video...they'd better consider someone else.

Still hoping for an unknown...

Charisma is only 36.

Charisma Carpenter? Hell no!

For a younger Wonder Woman I would go with 22 year old actress Taylor Cole

If they wanna make her a little older I would go with 30 year old actress Susan Ward.

There are better candidates.

Yes there is. I like carpenter, but not for WW. I don't care about her being 36, infact when did 36 become old? I guess in Hollywood standards or people under 20 it's old. I know one thing for certain is that I don't want to see a Kiera Knightly or some other 19 or 20 year old girl looking actress playing WW. I think anyomne playing WW should probably be mid twenties to early thrities.

Okay, I have only 3 ultimate favorite heroines. They are as follows:

1.) Storm
2.) Wonder Woman
3.) The Invisible Woman

Now, considering that movie studios have royally f'ed up the casting for numbers 1 and 3, I am keenly interested in seeing how Hollywould could possibly jack up my No. 2 favorite Heroine of all time. I'm prepared to be pissed.

Let's be clear: Lynda Carter will be a tough act to follow--no matter who they cast for this role. That woman was the consummate Wonder Woman in nearly all categories--she was regal, tall, gorgeous and graceful.

Charisma--for all her beauty--simply does not possess all of those qualities.

Wonder Woman is a demigoddess...and of Grecian Amazonian background. Therefore I don't understand why the hell they can't figure out how to forego this bimbo-starlet fad of late, and go for someone that better resembles the character in ALL aspects.

My choice?

Catherine. Fricken. Zeta. Fricken. Jones.

With heels she's about 6'...exotic, 35 and HOT. Is there any doubt? C'mon Warner Bros.--for the love of God, wake up!!!

Well at least Charisma has confirmed she gives head..lol Back to WW,I don't want Charisma for WW or Beckensale either. I'd take Catherine Zeta Jones, not only is she aging well, she's also a better actress than Beckinsale and Charisma.

I agree w/ fanticon. I have yet to see Charisma Carpenter do anything worth giving her the role of our favorite amazon (Lifetime movies DO NOT COUNT AS REAL FILM.) And I agree with LS on the Zeta-Jones casting. She's perfect, the looks (Damn!) and the chops. If the were going to go with a name, she'd be it. But in all likelihood, they will go with an unknown or at least virtual unknown, which makes me worry that the possibility of Carpenter getting the role could be on the horizon. And that I do not like at all.

I'd be down with all the suggestions on this thread. Susan Ward might be pushing it. I think there are better choices, but I think Char could pull it off. You can de-trash anyone with the right costumers, make-up and cinematography.

I'm anti-Morena Baccarin and wish I could erase Kaherine McPHee from the public consciousness.

susan ward def looks the part, but can she act? on the flip side jones can act, but might be too old

10-1 says whedon picks carpenter anyway cuz he's worked with her before :p

I love Mrs. Zeta-Jones-Douglas-Jingleheimer-Schmidt, but I can guarantee you that there will be at least half a dozen users on these boards that will call her a "grandma," despite the fact that she's only in her mid-30s, and her oldest child is only 6.

Charisma Carpenter's voice is all wrong.
True. I wouldn't even cast Charisma as Donna Troy.

Although, granted, whoever plays Donna has to be able to also play Diana. So I guess that kinda went without saying.

I have nothing against Charisma Carpenter, but she is just wrong for the part.
I give that casting WW is not an easy task, for all the reasons Lightning Strikez! pointed out and more, and Zeta-Jones is gorgeous (but i can´t see her in the role), but CC is not her.

Yeah, well, WW is tough to cast... Has to be tough, innocent and sexy at the same time. They´re hard qualities to pull off. Honestly, Zeta-Jones can be tough and sexy, but I don´t see much innocence in her, or in Charisma, for that matter. I wouldn´t jump off the bridge if either of them was cast, but I wouldn´t do cartwheels either.

Well, if Charisma is cast I will jump off the bridge for you, dear friend.

Jeez...this fills me with angst. I honestly haven't been this concerned about such a highprofile casting since the news broke that Jessica Alba suddenly was in talks for the IW role. I remember I actually couldn't go to sleep that night--I was that disgusted.

Hollywood stop screwing with my childhood loves!
