I kinda hope it's like a pre-child Beatrix Kiddo film. I'm not looking for anything deep from the Wick guys. Just a well done and stylish action romp.

Seems to be continuing the tone and color palette of John Wick which I'm all for. This is definitely one of my more anticipated summer films.

This is a movie made by men for men. since i am i like it. But i wonder how this will age in 10 years when female movies will become more popular. The action will age well.

This is of course not a female version of Wick but lets compare. promoting a Wick movie shows him in the shower from the back. we see his back and shoulder muscles. He is presented as strong and not sexy. clips from the this trailer show the female character in lingerie and in a sexy way. Wick is wearing pants and suits but the female character is wearing a a short skirt ,leather boots and visible stockings. Yes she will of course wear pants but thats not enough for me. and of course the trailer shows a woman kissing another woman.

The chances of an action movie with good action are small. We got lucky that one of Wick directors decided to direct this movie. To bad that we are not there yet.....where the female action star is presented like a man.

well to be fair john wick was just an old retired hitman while charlize in this movie is an MI6 Spy in berlin going undercover is probably key

The Assignment is such dated concept.

Like if they actually made the damn thing back in the 70's, when Hill bought the spec script, it would've been interesting B-movie cheese but not now. It's just..offensive, and it's not even being presented as an over the top Paul Verhoeven type film.

I dunno, I read the comic adaptation. Rodriguez' character makes peace with it fairly quickly.

Think it was either the 80s or 90s that churned out those female led action b-movies.

Nope. It's a Hard Case Crime adaptation a la The Nice Guys. Hill is also writing a prohibition era gangster comic for them too IIRC.

Looks badass. It seems to have all the style and action from the first John Wick which is pretty much what I expected. Also, this is the kind of ass kicking role I was hoping we would get from Charlize Theron in Fast and Furious 8. Looks like this is definitely going to deliver on that end along with a steamy, lesbian sex scene with Sofia Boutella. I can't effing wait.
