Well, the Olympic Committee is here in Chicago checking out the city with city officials trying to convince them that the Olympics should be held here.

For anyone who lives in Chicago, or anyone in general, how do you think our chances are?

As a resident of Chicago, I kinda hope we don't get it, it's bad enough already in the summers with the tourists, suburbanites and Cubs fans coming into the city.

No cities in the U.s. Should host until Israel hosts.

I don't think Chicago is the best choice....the Olympics need a lot of space and Chicago seems very cramped

A US City that might be fantastic for the Olympics that has yet to host?

Orlando.

Between the facilities at UF, Orlando and UCF there are plenty of fields to use. It's a tourist based town so they have the ability to bring in large crowds. A large airport. Good weather.

Then if Israel wants to host the Olympics, then they should do what other countries or specific cities do: put some effort behind a bid to host an Olympiad that convinces the IOC.

Israel hosting the Olympics makes about as much sense as Mexico City.

If Mexico City or Vegas makes a successful bid, what's the problem?

I'd be all for the Olympics in Vegas....you know the Opening Ceremonies would be spectacular

I say we give East St. Louis a chance. :o

If Chicago does get it, this entire area is gonna be a madhouse, both the city and the surrounding cities. The only thing I would be happy about is the revenue that we'd get for this.

Mexico isn't in any sort of position to guarantee the safety of anyone.

You can't compare Mexico City to Vegas.

Orlando makes the most sense.

I never compared them. Just that if a city makes a successful bid that you don't like, tough.

Besides, don't the Summer Olympics take place during Hurricane Season? So it's not like Florida can talk about guaranteeing safety

I heard if Chicago hosts there's a good possibility Minnesota will end up with some of the events being hosted here.
