I can't see praising this guy until word comes down that it was a reaction to his wife killing his son.

Anyone that could harm their own children (or any child for that matter) is complete scum and I think the title of murderer should erase any "good" they may have done in their lifetime.

Praising a possible murdering scum does not sit well with me. Then again if anyone harmed my child I couldn't see letting them live either.

Unfortunately, many people become so emersed in professional wrestling, they tend to think that they know the people they are watching on TV. However, the sad reality is we do not. And when you are told that one of your heroes is a cold-blooded murderer, the reality of the situation and the perception you have of that person have a hard time finding balance.

Hence the fact so many are questioning and speculating.

well said.

They're replaying the story a few more times this morning.

I hate to see people killed over the work they do... especially when it's fake.

Roid Rage Murder-Suicide.

What a piece of ****.

It could still be a triple murder. Don't pass judgement yet. The police ever say the murderscene is strange. To me that means there is more to this then meets the eye.

A thought just crossed my mind. If this is some big PR stunt done by WWE I'll be highly POed.

I doubt that it's a triple murder. In one article it said the police had a hard time getting into the house because of the dogs, a couple of german sheperds. If someone broke into the house I'm sure the dogs would have posed as a problem.

Thats the dumbest thing I ever heard. No way the dogs killed his whole family and the rabid wolverine.

unless it was someone the dogs knew.

You need to seperate fantasy from reality. This is reality
that is why i said what if. it was. I didn't say it was. Besides it wouldn't be the first time that a fake new was reported....WMDs in Iraq anyone?

It's funny how innocent/naive I can be as a person because when I heard this story, I immediately though, "carbon monoxide" and nothing as horrible as this.

I feel for his fans, who want to think the best of him and are hoping for a less horrible outcome to this story.

I think a lot of people are having a hard time coming to grips for their fallen idol.

Last night when I switched on wrestling during a commercial and saw it was tribute to Benoit and his family, I thought damn that sucks, another wrestlers dies tragically before his time, thought it was probably a car crash. Then checked the WWF website to see what happened and found all of them were found dead in their home, my mind instantly thought crap, murder-suicide. You want to believe it was something different, carbon monxide, a botched robbery because you've looked up to this guy as a hero for so long, but sadly it's probably the one thing you don't want it to be.

You may be right. but it is still sad. One has to wonder what lead up to it.

This situation not fake unforunately, it's all to real. The truth is starting to come out and it's not painting a pretty picture.

The personas in the ring are far different from the people backstage and beyond. Just like any athlete or celebrity, our perception of them as people is usually far from the reality. We become obsessed with what they seem to be rather than who they really are and unfortunately Benoit is no exception to that rule. Obviously I don't know the circumastances or what actually happened, they are still piecing that together, but Benoit is a human being like all of us. He is not Chris Benoit the wrestler, he is Chris Benoit the person, and it seems like he might have done something unforgivable and horrible.

This thread is a prime example of what happens when people who know gossip come in and start pointing fingers.

None of us know what happened. There isn't enough information to pass judgement, so why don't we all just calm down and stop jumping to conclusions.

um, read Strange's post. he didn't say that the dogs killed Benoit and his family, he said that the dogs would pose a problem to a potential murderer.

Until the police come out and say they are at the least 80% sure it was double murder suicide, I'll have faith that something else may have happened.

based on?

Maybe that nothing is confirmed, nor has any other pieces of evidence other than they are looking into it.

Though AM15 is partially right also that it is hope.

based on?

The fact that even the police are still not even 50% sure of what happened and say so themself. it is either triple murder or double murder suicide. They don't know yet.

So no one on here has the right to say this or that happen when it is all speculation right now.

Associated Press - June 26, 2007 11:24 AM ET

FAYETTEVILLE, Ga. (AP) - Authorities are awaiting autopsy results on the bodies of pro wrestler Chris Benot (ben-WAH'), his wife and their 7-year-old son found dead in an apparent murder-suicide.

Fayette County Sheriff's Sergeant Keith Whiteside declined today to say whether investigators found drugs or steroids inside the secluded Fayetteville home where the bodies were found about 2:30 pm yesterday.

District Attorney Scott Ballard says NO gun was used in the killings, but he declined to say how the three died.

Whiteside says the bodies were found in three different rooms -- Benoit in the home's weight room, his wife in an office and the son in an upstairs bedroom.

Whiteside says the sheriff's department will release the cause of death as soon as it is available. He said results of toxicology tests could take up to a week or longer.

The Fayette County Tax Assessors Office lists the value of the home where the bodies were found at nearly $900,000. It is located on more than eight and a half acres, off a gravel road.

Stamford, Connecticut-based World Wrestling Entertainment said on its Web site it had been asked by authorities not to release further information on the deaths of the 40-year-old Benoit, his 43-year-old wife, Nancy, and son, Daniel.
