your "support" reminds me of a very popular case here last year:

this guy kills his girlfriend's brother and then tries to kill her, escapes and is caught, but guess what? he became very popular amongst girls because he happens to be a good looking fellow, and yes, a lot of women said exactly what you said

did that make him any less of a monster or did it make his victims die any less?

I don't know how many kids you have, but I would never hurt mine like that

We still are not 100% sure what happend. Another source posted here says the wife killed the kid, Benoit killed her in a rage, and then killed himself.

Until I know 100% what happend, I reserve judgement.

I have no kids, at least that I know of, lol. I would never hurt a kid, either.

twenty something years of getting beaten and beating people are much more important than actually killing your family and then yourself

that's basically what you said

Not at all, I'm saying not to mix the 2 together. His personal life shouldn't be any of our business. If people want to call him a murderer & hate him so be it, but there are those who'll just appreciate what he has done throughout all these years.

I know what your saying. There should still be some respect for what he did for the business. He was a great wrestler and thats something that can't be taken away.

But I'm afraid his death and what he did wil over shadow his wreslting career for a long time.

His personal life was his business but now we all will know it due to the media.

This is the biggest load of crap I have ever heard. If some old man is a great Santa Claus and he gives his time for free every year to play Santa to sick kids in a hospital but then gets caught raping his neighborhood kids he is still a sick man and all of his good accomplishments have now been erased.

Steven Spielberg murder's his family and takes a shotgun to his head. Murderer? Yes. Monster? Yes. Still an amazing filmmaker? Yes. Would he be remembered for all his great films? Yes. Would all his movies become forgotton and not praised? No. Same here with Benoit. Murderer and monster, but what he did in the ring was great, fact!

Sorry, nope. Spielberg would be trash to me if he did what Benoit has done. You can't glorify anything a murderer has done. Because they equal the lowest of the low. They are scum.

I couldn't hate Schindler's List if he did. Different strokes, I guess.

I am still waiting on the official word, and reserve judgement until I hear the evidence and police account of the event.

They just had AFI's 100 best films of all time, Spielberg had a few on there and if he killed his family I bet the next time a film ranking came out his movies might still be on there but they would not be as acclaimed.

Too many people on here are now calling him a monster, but forgeting that he too may be a victim. When Eddie died Chris went into a deep depression. Anyone who saw the tribute to Eddie saw it. Chris wasn't just crying he was sobbing. Sobbing like he lost more then just a friend, but a brother. He was never the same mentally after this. Unless you have been there then you don't know what drepression does to a person, not just mentally but physically too. I am saddened that he never got help with this.

what a ridiculous thing to say. Benoit is hardly the first person to lose someone close to him and it certainly doesn't make him a victim.

Edit: while i was posting this someone found out and posted what happened. I am still saddened though. Like I said he was depressed. What Nancy did just drove him over the edge.

RIP Chris you will be missed.

it still hasn't been determined exactly what happened but most news outlets seem to be reporting that Benoit killed both his wife and son.

This is all sad. A guy I enjoyed seeing on tv wrestle...just not looking good.

Interesting though, that they will examine the bodies for cause of death...when murder instruments were found in the house.

Me: I'm not watching Raiders of the lost ark anymore.................**** I gotta watch it, it's so good:oldrazz:

We will never forget!

But we don't know what made him snap. I wouldn't call it cold blooded for the simple fact that if it was he would have wnet to the PPV like nothing happened. But What happed was he assumingly killed himself too. That is not the act of a cold blooded killer but a very mentally ill person. I am sad that it ended this way for him. If he had killed them in cold blood then tried to get away with it then yeah i would call him amonster, but not if he was sick.

I know my comments in another thread about God will come up some how in this so here it goes. Yes I think even if he was still alive and used a depression defense in court that he should be punished. By man as well as God. I only hope God finds mercy on his soul.

It's funny how innocent/naive I can be as a person because when I heard this story, I immediately though, "carbon monoxide" and nothing as horrible as this.

I feel for his fans, who want to think the best of him and are hoping for a less horrible outcome to this story.

I think a lot of people are having a hard time coming to grips for their fallen idol.

Exactly. But how exactly do you fake a fall? How exactly do you fake falling on REAL thumbtacks? How do you fake sometimes being hit in the face with a chair?

Seriously, I'm beginning to wonder if you're educated at all when it comes to wrestling. No one is saying it's real and that the outcomes aren't decided. It is basically acting in its purest form. But to not respect what they do is an insult to them and the profession.

Just so you know, it takes a ****load of training to be able to get into professional wrestling.

Accidents do happen, but I found a new respect for them when I see the amount of training they have to do in order to become a professional wrestler. I always had respect for those men and women who risk their lives basically wanting to entertain fans.

You say it's not a sport? I like you to walk up to Bret Hart, Triple H, Shawn Michaels, John Cena, Steve Austin, The Rock, Edge, and say what you said with a straight face. You remind me of that reporter who interviewed Edge and tried to mock him saying "We all know wrestling is fake. Sorry guys."

Edge owned her in brilliant fashion "Well, you know this "fake" sport gave me a broken neck."
At this point I don't want to say anything praising this guy but.......

I saw Mr. Benoit and his wife and son right after Wrestle Mania 20 at LAX. One whole side of his face was literally black (hardly any blue) and he had a nice row of stitches running down his forehead. It was pretty damn ugly. It may not be "real" but these guys are basically doing live stunt work on an almost daily basis. Give them some respect for what they do, crazy as it may be.

I don't know if it's a sport but I am sure the injury rate is probably quadruple of any other "sport" out there.

I don't see why people get so hard on wrestling fans for liking it. Cause its fake? So is any movie, or soap opera, or book. Don't hate people who like something fake. We all do.

Plus, people get hurt all the time and need to know how to execute these insane stunts. I would never jump of a ladder head first, thats for sure.

Sunrise I really appreciate the senitment but there's no need to worry about asking for forgiveness. Sometimes debates on here get heated, that's just the nature of arguments. I can understand how some of my posts may have warranted angry responses too and I also apologise if I offended you. Just know that I never took it personally so don't worry, I never held anything against you and I'm sure you're the same.

I really respect you taking the time out to apologise and, as said I really appreciate it and acknowledge it:up:

What did it say (can't watch right now)?

They reviewed the known facts, then had a clip of the DA (I think).

He said it is being investigated as a murder/suicide, but triple murder has not been ruled out. More details are expected today.

So nothing is ruled out, and we don't know jack?

What station was it that ran the story?

I think its the almost rapid belief in some quarters that its actually a sport that winds some people up.

Im not a fan of it, I understand that they are extremely good at what they do, and its a dangerous business.
Its not a sport though, and i think its good to see they dont treat it as such themselves

as for the actual story, it seems to be accepted theory that either he killed his wife n kid, or he killed his wife: if thats the case, either way hes a killer
