You know most people that have a problem, don't even know they have one. And there's this thing called denial as well. Again, please get informed.

Exactly. The thing also is, the guy might not have wanted help thinking he is though enough to handle it himself. The dude was as though as nails. When you go trough the pain he did, you think your strong enough on the inside too.

Obviously, if he was texting his friends and if he waited until Monday to kill himself, he might have a clue that he has a problem.

Seriously, do you enjoy looking ignorant? I understand that you're angry, I am too. Really. But nothing is ever as black and white as you want it to be right now.

Say goodbye to any and every clip that featured Benoit from the WWE/WCW/ECW Archives. He won't be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame, none of his matches will be put on future DVDs, the ending from WrestleMania XX will never be shown in any clips, his merchandise already has been taken off the website an any mention of his career has been removed outside the article about the murder suicide.

What the hell went wrong?

I watched the three hour show last night, enjoyed seeing matches and talking to my brother about old storylines/wrestlers/PPVs and all the great moments and now? He's a monster who broke, snapped, has tarnished all those memories and would be the last one in the WWE that you would think could do something like this.

Smackdown! and ECW will have matches, no storylines just regular wrestling matches.

This news is indeed tragic, and has made me rethink alot of feelings I had over this whole thing. I just always wind up though asking myself, what kind of state Chris had to be in mentally to be able to commit such an act? Mental illness is a very serious thing, that alot of people either don't seem to, or don't want to ever grasp. It can make you do things you never thought you were capable of, and things that you would never dream of doing (to yourself, or others). For all the people that don't realize that, I really hope that you don't ever have to find it out the hard way. There has been lots of mental illness in my family and I've seen first hand the effect that it can have. So before we go calling people "monster" and before we start damning people to hell, maybe we should find out a bit more of what could have led to this.

I was ALMOST going to agree with you but after the second sentence it all went away. NO KIDDING jerk-offs get TV shows. Howard Stern set (lowered ?) the standard for that sort of media behavior. But it DOES take a talented person to do a daily show, I don't care how much you dislike them. And then your point became less & less valid when you brought out the "easy" punching bags like Mariotti or Theismann or Jim Rome. Sad. You're basically lumping completely different broadcasters together because you disagree with their contraversial approach to sports journalism.

Jim Rome is a pot-stirrer if there ever was one, but he makes valid points on a near-daily basis. Theismann carried MNF this year whether his haters would ever admit it or not (they won't). And FYI, you want to hear "filler" radio, listen to ESPN Radio from 10pm-3am.
No. Just no. It's not about disagreeing with someone's approach to sports journalism. I live in Chicago and used to read Mariotti's column on a daily basis and the dude simply writes stuff to get a reaction. Half the time he's not even at the event he writes about. The only analyst that was as bad as Theismann last year was Simms. I've never seen ex-athletes be so bad at explaining situations on the field. It's not his approach to journalism I don't like. He'd have to have one first. Jim Rome is another brash personality that basically attempts to get a rise out of his audience. Yes, "rise=ratings" and I don't discount that. But none of this goes to explain away Cowherd's lifting of material without citing his source properly. If your claim is that I disagree with his approach to sports journalism because I'm not in favor of plagerism, then yes, you're right.

Finally, I agree that "overnights" is filler for any radio station, which is why it's often filled with previously recorded shows (like your boy Jim Rome, proving a point.) but ask any radio person where the 9-noon shift fits in and they'll tell you just above it, but below the rest.

I wonder how much his figures will be worth now? I mean if someone has a figure kept in a box. Imagine in 50 years time, it's got to be worth something if they are not going to make anymore.

It is also a fact that every person at some point in their lives will end up being clinically depressed.

I hit that last year. It isn't fun. You are right that these can drive you to do a lot of stuff you never thought possible of yourself or others.

LOL, I still have one of his action figures(not in box) I'm going to buy a Barbie Doll and strangle her with it.....:woot:

Same, I have, had and uncle (died a year ago) that had a chemical imbalance. I knew him my whole life, and it wasn't until about 4 years ago when I was around 20 or so did he even seem to know something was off. He asked my Grandma if he was different, and it's the only time he ever seemed to notice. He constantly would seemed puzzled over the smallest things, one time he seemed troubled, and after an hour said it was bugging him and asked us what 6x7 was. Ppl with mental disabilities can go a lifetime not being able to tell anythings off.

Not saying Benoit had a chemical imbalance, just mirroring the above statements that just because someone has a mental problem doesn't mean it's an easy fix or easy to get help. Plenty of ppl with mental health problems may not even know they have a problem, let alone that they should get help.

Help in many cases doesn't even cure the person, either.

Mental illnesses are not as easy as sweeping them under the rug.

They say the poor lad hadn't been right since Eddie Guerrero died last year. I don't think he killed his family, though. He didn't seem the type.

You know, I'm very disgusted at how some of the morons on this forum is making light of the situation. Since when did death become something to make fun of? Are you so bored with your life that you feel the need to make fun of a tragedy?

Let's hope no one close to you passes away or someone you respect passes away, because what you give is what will be given back to you. If making fun of what happened to Benoit, his wife, and his son makes you feel superior and special, then you do lead a very sad life.

I still don't believe he killed his family though. He didn't seem the type and so many people who were close to him would know something was off. Then again, I could be wrong.

It's no use, I got flamed here because I made a thread about someone killing themselves. I only go to this board for the wrestling thread.

Some people laugh to keep from crying.

The couple, who had lived together since 1997 and were married in 2000, had separated when Nancy Benoit, a wrestling manager who worked under the stage name "Woman," filed for divorce in May 2003.

In the accompanying petition for protection from domestic abuse, Nancy Benoit, 43, claimed she was intimidated by threats of violence from her 40-year-old, 5-foot-10, 220-pound husband, who was known as the "Canadian Crippler."

Benoit, the petition said, "lost his temper and threatened to strike the petitioner and cause extensive damage to the home and personal belongings of the parties, including furniture and furnishings. Petitioner is in reasonable fear for petitioner's own safety and that of the minor child."

In another count, she claimed Benoit had destroyed furniture in the home.

On May 12, 2003, the same day the divorce and protective order petitions were submitted, a judge issued a restraining order against the wrestler and barred him from the family home in Peachtree City.

On Aug. 19, 2003, Nancy Benoit filed to have the divorce and protective petitions dismissed, and both were.
