You have a lot of people who were close to this man. Bret Hart, Triple H, Edge, John Cena, Eddie Guerrero(RIP), Chris Jericho, Chavo, Dean Malenko, Brian Pillman(RIP), and William Regal. Of all the time they spent together on the road don't you think SOMEONE would've said something? Someone would've had to have noticed something odd about him, right?

LastSunrise1981, I know you're taking a lot of heat here, but seriously, you're honoring a murderer. The dude killed his 7 year old son and you somehow try and defend your choice of avatar, and coinciding quotes? Long live the Crippler? How about long live Daniel Benoit?!? Wait, that can't happen because the man you choose to "honor" took his life. There is no defending that. Legends do die when they sully their name with reprehensible actions.

Until today, I would have labeled myself as big a Benoit supporter as any, but after finding out the details behind this grisly murder, I would feel dirty trying to defend him in any way. Yes, he was a tremendously talented performer in the "Pro" Wrestling genre, but he killed his wife and son.

Yes I have. I'm not blaming his wife at all. I'm not saying it's her fault, all I'm saying is that if it was a problem before why stay? Why not get away from him? Why is it that so many people who were close to him didn't notice anything? That's all I'm saying.

I understand that most woman who are abused, be it physical or verbally tend to stay with the man out of fear and sometimes it happens to be a case of the Stockholm Syndrome where it appears captive begins to respect the one or show loyalty to the one who hurts them.

All I'm saying is if it was a problem before how come someone didn't notice it beforehand before it was too late?

You're right, she wasn't a psychiatrist. But do you have to be a psychiatrist to know something is wrong with a person? I don't disagree with what you're saying in the slightest. But as I said, he had to be a really great actor to be able to hide this side of him.

Nice try. I don't condone what Benoit may've done at all. All I'm saying is that I see a lot of morons on these forums making light of the situation. If you're supposedly so disgusted about it, why joke about it? There's nothing funny about it.

I don't care if certain people don't care. However, if they don't have anything to say regarding the tragedy don't say anything at all. I'm guessing none of your parents taught you common sense? I HATE what Jeffrey Dahmer did, I hate what John Wayne Gacy did, and I hate what Ted Bundy did. But I'm not going to mock the dead or make fun of them being dead.

You keep telling people how much their joking in this situation. You are the one posting his image. It would be different if he was killed. If someone posted a Phil Hartman image then it is understandable. He is a man that enjoyed his work and made people laugh and his life was taking away from him. Chris took life that wasn't just his. You're telling people that they joke around to much and yet you post an image of his face and his accomplishments as an entertainer. In your mind entertainment is life and it should be awarded as a tribute. You post his image as a tribute as an entertainer, but you overshadow the lives that he took. Taking his wife is bad enough but his son too. His son had a full life ahead of him. How do u know what direction he would take? You think he would follow in his fathers footsteps as an entertainer or maybe accomplish something a little more. He could've been a doctor, scientist, engineer or maybe the next President. Life isn't just about entertainment. If you want to honor someone's death maybe u should honor his son.

I agree. But as I said, there had to have been someone who noticed something odd about Benoit. What's even scarier is that if he hid this side of him so well, just imagine how the other guys who wrestled him must feel?

Not that it makes it any better or right at all, I would've thought that if he was this ruthless cold killer that he would've killed someone in the ring before killing his own family. It just doesn't make sense at all to me.

Honestly the first time I heard this story I thought it was carbon monoxide, it wasn't until this morning I heard it was murder-suicide and even hoped something would come out to make this horrible story less horrible.

But, the way you are making it sound, you want to exonerate him or at least explain his actions when it's almost probable you will never get a why or how to it.
