Chris Martin has turned into a "big kid" since wife Gwyneth Paltrow landed a role in 'Iron Man'.

The Coldplay frontman is a huge fan of the Marvel superhero and has splashed out on hundreds of copies of 'Iron Man' comics to help Gwyneth research her character.

A source told website Absolute Now: "Chris is like a big kid with this. He's ordered a whole stack of comics which he says are for Gwyneth to help her get into the role but in fact he's spent more time reading them than she has."

The mother-of-two is set to play Virginia 'Pepper' Potts, the executive assistant to Iron Man's regular alter ego, billionaire industrialist Tom Stark.

Gwyneth, 34, will star alongside Robert Downey Jr. - who will play the armour-clad hero - in the Jon Favreau-directed film, due to be released in May 2008.

Kevin Feige, president of production for Marvel Studios, said: "Gwyneth is the embodiment of a leading lady.

"She brings intelligence, poise and an incredible range of talent to this role."

Tom Stark?

I read that, lol, apparently the reporter didn't do there homework on Tony Stark. Still, cool article, it's awesome to hear that Chris Martin is a huge Iron Man fan, I wonder if he's going around telling everyone he's married to Pepper Potts, lol.

Why does he have to order them? Shouldn't the studio provide these comics to the actors?

Okay, Coldplay SOOOOOOOO has to make a song for this movie... C´mon Chris, drop the comics a minute and go to the piano...

They'll probably just have them do a reprise of the old Iron Man cartoon theme. "Tony Stark makes you feel..."

I think Coldplay is a little too classy for a superhero movie, and Iron Man is more of an urban/hiphop franchise.

how the hell is iron man hip hop?

if anything he should be big orchestra themes

heavy dramantic drumbs and ****

like think of the soundtrack for "24"

Coldplay better be on the soundtrack. Even if the whole thing is orchestral, have Coldplay do a song for the end credits!

I'd hope that if they do go for an artist based soundtrack, that they would follow the Spidey route and go for Indie and rock stuff. Coldplay, Killers, Snow Patrol, Kaiser Chiefs etc. I'd also kill for the Smashing Pumpkins to contribute. Their song was the only good thinmg in B&R

Yeah, I think they broke up like five years ago.

If Iron Man, which should be typed in all caps, if IRON MAN has a rock soundtrack, I think it should be done exclusively by the band Lillix.

OK, let's stop this line of conversation before this thread descends into utter idiocy.
