Chris Pratt is the Cowboy Ninja Viking

Former Quantico star Priyanka Chopra is in talks to join Chris Pratt in Universal’s action movie Cowboy Ninja Viking, Collider has learned. Michelle MacLaren (Game of Thrones) is directing the film, which is based on the Image Comics graphic novel by AJ Lieberman and illustrator Riley Rossmo. Pratt will play Duncan, a new kind of assassin who manifests the toughest skills of three different personas — a cowboy, a ninja and a viking.

Sources say that Chopra will play Sara Nix, a psychologist who’s assigned to monitor Duncan, and who may or may not develop feelings for him despite the professional nature of their relationship.

I like Pratt. He has charisma in spades. He is great in the GOTG movies (he didn't hafta do much heavy lifting in Vol 2 but I still liked him a lot in it) and I loved him in Magnificent 7. I didn't like him in JW tho. I thought he didn't look very convincing as a reserved, stoic badass in JW.

Agree, something was off About him in JW.

Quantico is over she definitely needs that flick push.

For those familiar with the comic, does this story take place in present day? Just curious. The movie set looks like it's from the 1800's.

It's present day, it could just be all in his mind or something they constructed to help him hone his cowboy skills.

‘Cowboy Ninja Viking’ Pulled From Release Calendar, Delayed Indefinitely

One month before production had been slated to start, Universal has removed the Chris Pratt action vehicle Cowboy Ninja Viking from its release calendar and delayed production indefinitely, though the film remains in active development, Collider has exclusively learned.

Michelle MacLaren (Game of Thrones) had been set to make her feature directorial debut with the film, which is based on the Image Comics graphic novel by AJ Lieberman and illustrator Riley Rossmo. She remains attached to direct, just as Pratt remains attached to play Duncan, a new kind of assassin who manifests the toughest skills of three different personas — a cowboy, a ninja and a viking. He would’ve been joined by Priyanka Chopra, who had been in talks to play the female lead. Should the project get off the ground in the future, Chopra would likely be the first choice for the role, though her involvement would all depend on her schedule aligning with a new production schedule

I'll "pray" about this for a while and hope it happens.

They got cold feet. I feel bad for MacLaren.

I wonder what happened. Chopra was in talks a week ago.

Universal has pulled Cowboy Ninja Viking back from its June 28, 2019 release date, amid hot rumors of heavy turbulence on the set. Sources said that the film came to a screeching halt yesterday and there were rumors there might be some changes in elements. Studio has confirmed the picture has pulled back from its fast track and will go back into development. It had been slated to begin production in mid-September.

Problems during pre-production, eh. If McLaren is still attached to direct then the turbulence came from elsewhere/someone else. Hmmmm.

Probably wasn't Pratt either. That dude is like a human puppy.
