Documentary/Biopic Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer

If I were doing a double bill I’d probably do Oppenheimer first and Barbie second so I can leave the cinema laughing.

I honestly believe it has the possibility of being Nolans most acclaimed movie.

I try to detach myself as much as possible from reviews/reception these days and just focus on what I think, and I'm prepared for there to be some pushback on the length and the usual Nolan haters to come out swinging. But I have to admit, it's hard to shake the feeling that this could be a perfect storm brewing with the right film at the right time by the right filmmaker.

I haven't actually felt *excited* since this movie was announced, mainly just because of the heavy subject matter and it's not the same type of hype as if he were doing a more 'fun' blockbuster. I've of course been very interested, but it's been more of an intellectual curiosity and a trust because I always respond to Nolan's work. But with the movie a few weeks away...yeah, I'm definitely feeling that strong itch to watch this thing. It's also been 6 years since I've been able to catch a Nolan film on a real IMAX screen. Didn't get that chance with Tenet, so that aspect alone is starting to really get me amped.

Criticisms about the length will be inevitable regardless of whether the movie has good pacing or not. Some people just think films with a long running time automatically equals boring and/or bad.

I remember a time when if a movie was under 2hrs it meant the film was in trouble lol

That really applied to Fox movies when Tom Rothman was in charge. At this point I'd welcome more 90 minute movies. :o

Oh man, press junket floodgates opening. Here we go.

Dude, I'm so happy for Cillian. To see him showered with what truly feels like huge genuine praise by this mega A-list cast. So wholesome. His whole career has led to this moment.
