Nice boost from China. I guess even small amounts from markets opening this late would be a good boost compared to the lower earnings at this stage.According to Deadline.com, Oppenheimer grossed ~$30M in China for its first five days of release. Nowadays, I guess that’s considered pretty decent. So it’s possible that China could give a new boost to the overall numbers. (Current WW total is $852M.) Still hasn’t opened in Japan. But if/when that happens, the BO there might not amount to much...![]()
Apart from Rami Malek giving a legitimately good performance I'm chalking up all the Oscars attention that Bohemian Rhapsody got to the Live Aid scenes and the music of Queen lulling the viewer into thinking it was a better movie than it was.Oppenheimer deserves it way more than Bohemian Rhapsody did. How that movie ever won Best Editing is beyond me.
Excellent, yet another honour for this great film.
Well deserved!
Thank Christ.
Well deserved!
Haven’t we reached a point when most people are going, “Grace who?”. She’s irrelevant.
I was thinking the same thing, more or less. I knew it would do well but I didn't think it would go on to be within striking distance of $1B just based on the subject material.I speculated that Oppenheimer might do just as well as Dunkirk at the BO (~$500M). And for a 3-hour drama, that would be an impressive success.
+$900M is astonishing.
