Fantasy Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey

I bet that's the moment they bury the motherbox in the ground to hide it from the gods. :o

Kind of amused to see some people on Twitter complain about the lack of color in what we’ve seen so far.

For all Nolan’s strengths, it’s not like making those colors pop has ever really been his top priority.

I do think the costuming here is a bit bland. Colors play a big part in that, but even just the designs themselves are leaving me cold. I don't need Robert Eggers' level of authenticity, but I'm sure there was a happy middle ground somewhere between that and what we got.

That's usually reserved for his casts. :o

My official stance on costume discourse is I sincerely don't give a crap, lol. I think they look fine, but I'm also not that level of history nerd. Even though this is a myth after all, and clearly not meant as literal history. *Shrug*

That said, the natural dynamic range of anything shot in IMAX tends to be the most stunningly vibrant things you can see on your TV. I mean obviously his movies don't look like Candy Land, but the colors are still rich AF. I think people are reacting prematurely to production stills. vs. how stuff will hit with Hoyte's cinematography. Especially with this being the first all-IMAX film ever. Ah, kids.
