Fantasy Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey

“I was originally hired by Warner Bros. to direct ‘Troy.’ Wolfgang [Petersen] had developed it, and so when the studio decided not to proceed with his superhero movie [‘Batman Vs Superman’], he wanted it back,” Nolan said.

Its crazy that they basically traded places with the genres they were originally hired to direct.

Actually kind of unfathomable to consider how things would’ve gone if he did Troy instead.

Obviously he took Batman to heights many other directors wouldn’t have been able to, but I also don’t imagine he would have the name recognition he has now without his time with the character. It was mutually beneficial.

If there's some sort of combination between on-set animatronics and stop motion miniature stuff, I'll freak.

Nolan directed a short doc about the Brothers Quay some years back, and ever since then I've wondered if he ever intended to attempt effects like that in one of his films.
