This came on tv last night, so I figured I'd watch it.

It started out ok, I thought it might not be AS bad as I thought. But after the cats brought her back to life, I couldnt believe what I was seeing! I was determined to watch the whole thing, but I caved in after an hour & had to change the channel.

OMG!

I got the impression they took Burton's original of the cats bringing her back to life & used it as a starting point for their own ideas. But the thing about Burton's origin is that it is never known whether or not the cats brought her back, the whole cat persona couldve been totally phychological & it were the canopies that broke her fall OR she was actually brought back to life by the cats. There was a subtlety to it.

Not with this movie though. They took the name Catwoman literally.

Maybe I'm completely wrong, but I always thought that catwoman was a cat burgular they took on cat-like, feminine qualities, not literally becoming a cat & playing with balls of yarn. She oozes sexuality, almost teasing you & not walking around like a hooker, letting it all hang out.

Has this movie grown on anyone?
Does anyone know if DC actually gave support to this movie?
I know WB owns DC, so it probally wouldnt matter if DC disagreed. I just cannot see how DC could support this abomination. It has absolutey nothing to do with the catwoman character in their comics.

It pains me to think what a REAL catwoman movie couldve turned out like, something online with Nolans Batman Begins. Something with SELINA KYLE.

It´s still crap, but it´s crap like a lot of other comic book based movies - Punisher, Captain America, Elektra, etc. In some ways, it was GOOD that such a bad movie didn´t try to pass like an actual adaptation of the comics, when I see the makers of FF talking like they´re doing something so faithful to the Stan Lee/Jack Kirby creation I want to take hostages...

I never seen it and I never will cos after I saw shots of Berry in that **** crap costume and read the plot as well. I just pretend that it never happened.

Hmmm... I remember when Ashley Judd was cast as Patience Pierce, so... yeah.

Taking the movie without an expectation of it being like the comic books, I have to admit, while it had some entertaining parts, the plot was total crap, the set design was bland and the supporting cast one bad steroetype after another. I think Ernie Reyes Jr was wasted in this... am i right?

The worst part about this movie was the moral lesson "Freedom IS Power" as though, we should all just run out in the streets and do whatever the heck we want. That's what Catwoman stands for? Seriously?

That said, while it had amazing weak points, and didn't follow the comics, the action scenes were well choerographed and some of the more innovative editing tricks were rather enjoyable, pushing me to want more. Also, all I could think about was the Renu-U product and the Roland Dagget origin of clayface episode from BTAS.

I could say a lot about this movie. I think it has it's good parts and it's often unfairly judged around here because it's not Selina Kyle and because it's Halle Berry. The actual reasons why this movie is hilariously bad are rarely mentioned, but I'll take it over, say Smallville reruns, anyday of the week.

Yuck Yuck Yuck.

That film was basically a jennifer lopez esque romantic comedy with cosmetic face putty villains. Was that some kind of way to blend feminine things into an action setting? It FAILED horrendously in all areas. Acting, plot, dialogue, action, design.. everything.

What WAS that? Seriously. lol

Ranks at the very very bottom lower than films that tried and failed for me (capt america). These folks were entirely spaced out, kinda like Schumacher, and even Forever wasnt this bad.

I still refuse to watch it. :o

It wasnt the fact that it didnt heed the comics. Their vision just sucked unlike other directors who choose to write their own ideas.

it was so bad it was funny, can't bare to watch it again though! The only thing this film is growing is dust, as it sits in the back of people's collections who thought it was worth that £2 in that bargain bucket......

Everytime I hear something about this movie I make out with my picture of Michelle Phieffer as Catwoman.

I have never seen it, and I don't plan to. This movie looked beyond horrible.

Catwoman is terrible. Just awful. Astoundingly bad. Halle Berry makes a fool of herself in the "let's act like a cat... literally" scenes. And the basketball scene! Hilariously bad. The terrible CGI is just painful to behold.

How Warners ever gave the greenlight to this monstrosity is beyond me. I hope they don't ever slide back into making this kind of awful comic book film again.

A Catwoman film could be really great, too, if it was done right. Hopefully Nolan will give us a great Catwoman in Batman Begins III, leading to a new spinoff film.

IF (and I do mean IF) you find the dvd at a cheap as hell price, I'd recommend picking it up for the Catwoman documentary that's included. It's really good and would actually be worth the cheap as hell price...and unlike the movie, is entertaining.

Ugh. This movie is still the standard for how NOT to make a movie. Not just a comic book movie, but a movie in general. I never saw it, never will. I've seen enough clips, read enough of the plot, and seen the ridiculous CGI fight scenes enough to know better than to sit through it.

Anyone who likes this movie shiould be tarred, feathered, and shot....or at least neutered, so as to not infect the population of Earth with their stupidity through pro-creation. Pro-creation is a gift from God that shouldn't be wasted on people who think CINO was a GOOD movie.

Yes, we're all entitled to like, or even love, one bad movie, but still.....you can do better than this film.

I see it in the 5.99 bargain bin at my local Wal-Mart every time I go there. The "special edition" (muffles laughter) remains in the 7.50 section.

Is it wrong that, whenever I stumble across this crap-fest in the "Action" section of my local video store, I move it to the "Comedy" section? They always catch me when I put it in "Special Interests"....
