City of Crime

Is this that horribly confusing and boring story that ran in Detective Comics a couple of years ago?

My god, did I hate that story. Detective Comics at it's lowest point.

Rereading the TPB, I still don't know what happened.

hands down one of the worst story arcs i've ever read. my hatred for this story is quite passionate.

I also hated it...Batman my ass...whiney little b**chman was more like it...

The storyline was so convoluted--not to mention uneccessarily long. What actually HAPPENED?

What was with the rabid cheese-eating bum?

the part I dont understand is why the Joker showed up at the end and even though he'd been locked in Arkham the entire time, knew every detail of the situation, even things Batman didnt know...does Joker keep track of every 2 bit hood in Gotham or something?

The Joker didn't appear in City of Crime at all. He wasn't even involved in the storyline. Are you reading the same book?

Ohhh. I think you got this confused with Broken City. :o

Broken City, City Of Crime...both s**ty storylines that I'm tryind so hard to block from my memory that they just sort of merge together...

Your talking about Broken City (which I love)

How did the joker know? Azz was playing with Grant Morrisons idea of a superinsane Joker if I'm right, which there also doing in countdown (well they were....I dont know if they are now)

so if you look at it that way, Joker knew because he's superinsane. Which I admit isnt my favorite part of the story but damn I loved that arc.

SPOILERS

honestly it's a great story

except thru it all it was the mother who killed the girl

other then that it was very dark and gritty and I loved it

I know people hate it but i honestly think it's not that bad

I've read worse:cwink:

This was the worst Batman TPB I've read in recent memory. I was actually thumbing through it trying to see how many pages were left. I tried forcing myself to get through it quickly in an effort to be able to read something else. And I guess a prt of me was hoping that it would evolve into something better. What a waste of nearly 300 pages.

The only thing I remotely liked was Penguin saving Batsy's arse. I really can't recall much else, as I was bored s--tless.

It's intruiging but...confusing. I enjoyed it but felt it was unresolved with the conclusion.

I need to reread it again.

I'm glad to see others were confused. I just thought it was the jaeger I drank right before picking this up.

LOL! :woot:

I think a drink might help some people to understand it better. I sugest everyone get a little liquor up before reading this story arc.

You'd have to have had drink on you to have forked out cash for this story.

Actually a friend of mine told me it was good. He's suing me for hospital bills now. I should've finished the job.
