Civil War Chronicles

It annoys me that the people at Marvel think it's reasonable to reprint a series that just ended in individual issues again, but not so much as it annoys me that people will actually buy this. Probably in droves, no less. :(

This isn't anything new, people picking it up are either
a) comming on late and want to get it all in chronological order
or
b) marvel fanbots that scoop up anything marvel, just for the sake that it's marvel.

It's actually a pretty good idea IMO, as many of the books and such were out of order from the shipping (the minis and tieins, not the main series // frontline)

Yeah, but it just seems obnoxious to me, given that we already know Marvel is going to put trades for the whole shebang out within a month or two because, y'know, they're Marvel.

you say that like it's a bad thing.

It's not. I'm down with trades, and I like the fact that Marvel releases their trades quickly. Reprinting the same material that's going to be in those trades under new covers as individual issues is what I have a problem with.

understandable.

but you don't have to buy it.

I know, and I won't. Hence my comment that I was more annoyed by the fact that others would than I was by the fact that Marvel's even doing it. Good sales on crap like this just sends Marvel the message that they can milk things indefinitely.

I can see where you're comming from, but if you didn't start Civil War from the begining ("The road to Civil War") and tried to go back and buy it all up now...it would be a hassel, unless you had some kind of checklist and order list to read them in. At least if you bought them monthly then it was in somewhat of the right order.

Hell, I know I would of LOVED if there was something like this for Infinite Crisis (I jumped in around issue 4 and was lost as all hell, and it took a good week or two to track down all the tie-ins, lead-ins, and get them in the right order to read).

It's a good idea, but considering that I have Civil War and EVERY tie-in, I'm sure as hell not getting it.

Anyone notice how many times they use the word "acclaimed" in that article?

The article has been updated.

It's no longer every Civil War story. Just the main book and Front Line with some important CW related issues thrown in along the way.
