The movie is nearly here, what do you think the RT score will be?

90-95% range is my forecast.

80-89 as well.

While this is definitely going to be an awesome film, i was originally on the same boat as a lot of other folks thinking that Joss Whedon would strike gold twice and Avengers: Age of Ultron would be critical acclaim like its predecessor, given that we had the same formula as the first Avengers film (same director, writer, cast etc)

But alas Whedon couldn't strike gold twice, and the same thing could very well happen to Captain America: Civil War too.

I'm thinking this'll sneak into the 90s.

Winter Soldier kind of took the general audience by surprise, and expectations are in check.

I've got a gut feeling that CA:CW will be the critical winner among the CBMs of 2016.

This.

After the First Avenger, nobody would've predicted how awesome and well made the Winter Soldier was, it was the best and most pleasant surprise of 2014 for me.

With Civil War on the other hand, expectations are rocket high right now, folks expect this to be critically acclaimed, just like what they expected for Age of Ultron.

I am going to say the movie ends up being consider a little bit better than winter solider and that got a 89. So I am going to say 91-92.

MCU movies generally hit 80+ every year for the last 4 years with the only exception being 2013. My bet is that both CW and dr Strange will be very well-received. I can see CW in the 90s on RT since it presents something different and more emotionally investing than typical superhero films. The scale of the film is different, it's not a world-ending scenario that critics are wary of now and it seems to have minimal explosions and destruction.

My estimate is 86-92 for CW and 84% for Dr Strange.

Iron Man, The Avengers, and Guardians are the only MCU films in the 90's so unless it's really good, I doubt Civil War will be that high. Winter Soldier was 89, so I could see it being slightly lower than that. Probably the low 80's. Almost all the other MCU films end up in the 70's range with the exception of The Dark World and The Incredible Hulk which are in the 60's.

5 MCU films have 80+ so it's not a stretch. Even from those that are in the 70s range two fo them are 79...

89 - 98, because this is phsycology thriller movie with more deep story and argument

Captain America: The First Avengers: 79%
Captain America: The Winter Soldier: 89%

The pattern obviously demands - Civil War: 99% :o

Same as Winter Soldier

This is a riskier film to make than Winter Soldier, but according to respectable sources like James Gunn, the film is truly spectacular

I'm betting there is going to be some hate just because people will be sick of superhero movies, and want to say bad things, but I'm certain this will beat BvS, and I expect that to score int he 60-70 range...

Now why the hell would you bring up BvS???

Stick to talking about Civil War buddy. :whatever: :whatever:

I don't know why people are assuming that BvS will fail critically? They both look fantastic, and we should all be hoping they both do well critically and financially.

It's currently at zero percent.:csad:

What I would love is if we all not talk about BvS here and focus solely on Captain America: Civil War

I don't want BvS to be acclaimed. I don't want it to be panned either but a very large portion of the DC fan community needs a lesson for their elitism and their belief that DC films are above "mindless popcorn flicks" that they call the MCU ones. They throw shade and look down on the MCU in every chance. I have seen they saying that Avengers was the worst thing that could happen to cinema.

I know how this makes me look but i don't care. I have had enough with the belief that every cbm that celebrates the comics and dares to have some degree of fun is "inferior". They need to be put in their place and the strongest slap will be 65% on RT for BvS. Yes, i went there.
