I don't give a crap about the calories or whatever. There are people who just prefer the taste of diet coke. Diet soft drink taste in general is less overpowering to me.

Depends on taste buds. When I was a kid I remember trying diet coke and it was tolerable, but when I tried regular it was too strong a flavor. Of course I grew up drinking seltzer water mostly so can live without coke/pepsi anyways.

Why do you see overweight people ordering diet cokes at Mcdonalds? Please don't be dumb enough to assume most of them are drinking it for diet purposes. It is a taste preference for some people, simple.

I can't speak for everyone, but I've got some overweight cousins that drink only diet (there may some diabetes involved as well) and they've drank it for so long they say regular soda is too sweet for them now.

let's not forget that the drinks themselves are called diet soda.
