Clint Eastwood Directing J. Edgar Hoover Biopic

Who knows.

Nice to see Armie Hammer in this. Another Oscar bait film that he's in.

Almost thought it was a zombie movie. What's the point of desaturating the colours that much? What is the thematic significance? What is being evoked? Look at the stills above and comtrast with the trailer footage; the former looks far more pleasing.

Another Oscar bait film that he's in.
I don't think the Social Network was Oscar bait.

Pretty inconsistent accent from Leo, but otherwise, looks great.

Clint made the changling right? That guy does not like cops.

Damn that looks good. I will be checking that out. Not a fan of the color pallet though.

When they finally give DiCaprio his Oscar they just need to engrave it with, "our bad for kinda sleeping on this over the past couple decades, man, real talk."

Trailer is good. It's definitely Oscar bait but we knew that already. Old Leo looks like PSH. :awesome:

Could come down between Leo and Gary Oldman.

Looks like it although don't count out the guy from The Artist as well. Leo's role seems to be the most showy though. I think/hope Gary's veteran status and not having a single nomination will work in his favor.

I like how it's rated R for brief strong language. I was sure it would be rated R for something else, if they decided to go with the infamous portion of his life.

What's up with the colour palette? Looks good nonetheless.

Although the trailer did have undertones to it I think I read that they're going vague on that one and leave it up to open interpretation.

You guys are throwing around the word "Oscar-bait" like it's going out of style, and I have to ask...... when, in the last ten to fifteen years has Leonard DiCaprio been a part of something that wasn't Oscar-bait?

Inception. Body of Lies also comes to mind.

Oscar bait, but will this be the one to finally net Leo a statuette?
he will get the oscar.

be angry at me all you want. if there is a sign that you are a little mentaly challendged, gay, drug addicted, directed by Eastwood,..... then you will get the oscar. so you have a gay famous person directed by Eastwood. he is 100% winning.

the movie looks very unique for a Eastwood movie. and the acting looks fantastic. i am positive about the movie.

Leo has probably the best shot. I got a feeling he'll win, but I do hope it won't be like Scorsese's win. Where Leo deserved it a long time ago.

Movie looks great.

The old man make up looks horrible in my oponion and really doesn't go with Leo's voice at all.

It looks good but nothing that screams the performance of his life. That performance was aviator or catch me if you can, both of those movies I never felt like I was watching leo acting as someone else.

So are we all in agreement that Leo and Oldman are the 2 biggest oscar snubs?

With Leo, because he still looks about early 20s, some still can't take him seriously. It won't be until he hits that old man wall like Brando did will some start to see him for the role as opposed to the man. Brando looked young as hell for a LONG time.
