I like how the writer of the article jumps to the conclusion that Clive has spoke to his daughters about it, when he simply said his daughters would love for him to do it.

Sheesh dude, he's just saying they are fans and would LOVE to have their Dad in the movie (probably as ANY character).

Now I could definitely see Clive Owen as Kraven. That would be awesome casting! t: And if you guys remember back in March last year Deadline Hollywood Daily said that Sony was thinking of casting Mickey Rourke as a villain in Spider-Man.

I won't put any stock into this rumor right now. However, if Kraven is the villain choice, and he is alone...that would be seriously weak. I like Kraven, but as the villain to set the tone for your new series? Meh.

But, I don't think this report implies any truth, really.

Why would Sony be SO hesitant to use Vulture that they would keep him out of two movies, and fire the director and the cast in order to reboot and then use a villain along the same lines Vulture?
I like Kraven, I think he is cool, but seems as likely to sell movie tickets as Vulture.

Kraven's got a brilliant story-arc based around him though. Something Vulture's never really had.

Those two things (the story arc and the look) are both very good points.
Still though, from the movie studio standpoint I don't know that they would trust Kraven bringing in the money they want.
They didn't trust Malcavich as Vulture.

Kraven wouldn't break the 80 mil rumor to me. Kraven is a cheap villain. He doesn't do much outside of traps and wrestling. He's cheap.

We can't be sure that EVERYTHING will be USMed up though. Hell, he could be a reality show star, but still have a 616 Kraven arc (Last Hunt).

He'll probably be USM Kraven with the powers of 616 Kraven. That's what I see them doing.

They're not going to do Kraven's Last Hunt with Kraven. Especially if Peter is in high school. If the origin is already established, I would think Spidey's career is still young, so he wouldn't have an established rivarly with Kraven yet.

Both Ultimate and Spectacular Kraven are terrible. If they're not going to go with the 616 version then they shouldn't bother with him.

I feel like to really give Kraven his best shot on screen, they need Lizard.
