The Amazing Spider-Man Clive Owen audtioning for Kraven The Hunter?

if they get kraven they better get lizard

well the international had Naomi Watts an Clive Owen and i only cost 50 million

I won't put any stock into this rumor right now. However, if Kraven is the villain choice, and he is alone...that would be seriously weak. I like Kraven, but as the villain to set the tone for your new series? Meh.

But, I don't think this report implies any truth, really.

Kraven in combination with the Lizard would be great....so many possibilitys.

I can def see a darker or grittier movie with Kraven and Lizard happening. Both characters lend themselves to being gritty or darker.

Of course couple the darker tones and urgency with the characterization and Peter Parker with a funny bone and personality that we are expecting.

The hell is wrong with Kraven's crotch? Too much of those damn magical enhancers.

Better?

If Kraven's in it(I happen to be in favor of such an idea), then I forsee 2 distinct possibilities for the 2nd villain choice depending on which way they want to go with the new series:

1)The Lizard(as many have suggested already). This would follow Raimi's films much more in that it would remain more personal for Spidey. Doc Conners is someone Peter cares about and has turned himself into the Lizard. Kraven's come to town to hunt Conners and Spidey has to stop Sergei from putting Conners's head on his trophy wall all the while trying to keep from becoming the Lizard's breakfast long enough to find a way to change him back.

2)The Chameleon. This would have a much grander, less intimately personal scope and be more like TDK(Spidey's fighting gangsters in NYC + their supergoons which is where Chameleon & Kraven factor in). Spidey's been proving to be a bit of a pest to some of the higher ups in the underworld(Kingpin would be ideal, but Hammerhead or Silvermane could work in a pinch). The boss hires a guy he's heard good things about(Chameleon) as a trouble shooter on how to deal with this Spidey problem. Chameleon sets up several ideas to kill Spidey but they just don't end up working. Eventually, he brings in kraven with promises of the hunt of a lifetime. Etc., etc.

too bad raimi and sony did'nt do lizard as i feel as connors was built up his impact on doing the lizard would mean more than to just throw him in the reboot

True enough. Hindsight being 20/20 and all. SM3 should have been Lizard & Harry with no trace of black goo anywhere.

I love your avatar-! Nicolas Hammond is still the best Spider-Man. There, I said it.

It's a freaking travesty that he didn't turn into the Lizard in part 3. The previous 2 films built up the addition of that character.

That's because Spidey's film makers, didn't think about having a story planned out for multiple movies before hand. They just slopped anything together making an abstract knee-jerk of a movie.

Again thats one of the problems with Raimi's films imo, you didnt get that sense of over arching connection between the movies.

well if they are going down the more realistic path (which is stupid considering the hero sticks to wall and can lift 10 tons) kraven is one of the more realistic spidey villians. he also fits the 'dark and gritty' profile.

like the raimi movies didnt try to go a more realistic path? do i need to remind you of the power ranger goblin suit?

OH. HELL. YES!

Kraven doesn't and shouldn't need the use of CGI. Wire works, traditional stuntmen, and practical visual effects is all Kraven needs. The focus of CGI should soley be on The Lizard, even with him, animatronics, wire works, camera tricks, slow motion and other practical visual effects should be blended perfectly. I want a deadly killing machine in The Lizard, put fear in every New Yorker's heart that this thing is loose. I want heat baby boy, bring me some of that grit and no cheese.

As I said, it depends on the story they are trying to tell. Do they want to go more personal(Raimi's films already did that) or do they want to go more grand and have it be more about how Spidey's existence is effecting the city around him? That's the more TDK route.

LOL. Hell yes!

did'nt the city hate spider man and wanted him arrested as well

It's always been a mix as far as I know. Many love him, many hate him. But I was refering more to how the criminal element within the city would respond.
