The Amazing Spider-Man Clive Owen audtioning for Kraven The Hunter?

It's always been a mix as far as I know. Many love him, many hate him. But I was refering more to how the criminal element within the city would respond.

it's 50/50. I didn't like the spidey love in SM3 (although it was entertaining) the city should distrust spidey. I always wanted to see spidey v the police/swat in one of the movies and that isn't possible if he is a beloved character.

i always liked the fact that spidey still does what he does even though the city doesnt like him.

^Yet more elements that Raimi has screwed the pooch on, that adds to the greatness of Spider-Man. He's stripped too many layers away from the original concept.

Honestly I'd prefer either Doctor Octopus or Green Goblin for the first spider-man movie. Make doc ock like the comic book, even show some of his childhood with him being taunted. or make green goblin more like the comic book.

I don't want to see Kraven in any Spider-Man movie.

yeah it adds to the depth of Peter's character a lot. I thought it was a big mistake having the city love him, unless something humiliating was going to happen to Spider-Man shortly after causing the city to once again turn on him after he finally just won them over.

It's too soon for either The Goblin or Doc Ock, we've already had two Goblins in 2 movies. I don't know why people keep mentioning them. That goes for Sandman and Venom too.

If the budget (80M) is as low as its being reported you can expect a villain like Kraven who doesn't require a bunch of CGI or perhaps The Chameleon or Silvermane.

It's only too soon if you present the characters exactly as they were presented the last time. I"m talking about a darker Green Goblin who looks like he did in the comic book. It's almost a completely different villain if you do it like that, especially when it comes to visuals.

with Otto, I'm not talking about a friendly charming Dock Ock. I'm talking about the arrogant jerk with the horrible childhood.

The low budget doesn't mean too much. CGI is getting less expensive. Look at district 9. That was only 30 million, and the aliens looked completely real. Most CGI costs are when you initially figure out how characters will look, how you will create them and developing the techniques for making it look real, figuring out how they will move ect. They already have all that ready for spider-man. The high wire set ups, ect. Green Goblin wouldn't be that expensive at all today.

And Harry Osborn wasn't really a Goblin in SP 3. He was a guy with gadgets who wanted revenge. He was done well, but he wasn't a goblin. Not in appearance or name even.

If Sony was nervous about the markability of the Vulture, then I highly doubt they would ever consider Kraven. A ridiculous costume with no potential for exciting visuals or fight scenes. He has kind of like a hillbilly thing going on too.

I highly doubt Sony would go with that.

the best rogues in the business
batman
spider-man
flash

spider-man literally has loads of villians, so whilst doc ock is my favorite spidey villian I want some others to set a shot, even the lame ones.

I'd pay to see Clive Owen blow his brains out on film. "They said my mother was insane."

Oh yeah, I get what you're saying, and I agree, and hope they do go with a darker and more serious/deadly villain in both Doc Ock and The Goblin. But still, there's too many villains to choose from to use them just yet. The director isn't going want to step on any toes with his first outing. With new villains that has never been used before, it makes the first film of the new series fully the director's own. Perhaps they can do it in its sequel. Like Chris Nolan (Batman Begins), he didn't use any villains from the previous films with his first outing, that's the way to go for Marc Webb's first Spider-Man film.

I too believe that you don't need a 200-250 million+ budget to make a great Spider-Man film. But you also have to have a director, who knows what the hell he's doing, very much like the director of District 9.

Yeah but this isn't SM4, now, the budget is going to be much lower without Tobey, Kirsten and Raimi getting 10's of million of dollars. Those three alone will probably knock off close to 100M bucks from the budget, because Raimi/Tobey also wanted a piece of the Box Office %.

Kraven won't be wearing his clothes from the comics, did you see Doc Ock wearing green pajamas? And with Spidey/Kraven fighting, if Hollywood can write huge action scenes in movies like 'DIE-HARD' or 'RAMBO' or 'JAMES BOND' with normal humans, why can't they do it in a movie with two super-powered beings?

Would Clive Owen really be AUDITIONING for this? Wouldn't they be throwing money at him just for a frame of him in the flick?

I think the rumor is saying that he's being considered for the role and so they asked him if there was any truth to it.

With an eighty million dollar budget... I don't see this happening. Clive Owens is a great cast for Kraven; but again, at eighty million in budget... I don't see this happening. I'm already sadden by the fact they're choosing to go Ultimate.

I'm already sadden by the fact they're choosing to go Ultimate.

Why? the tone and setting is of a kid with superpowers in high school. Which is exactly what Ultimate Spider-Man is. Just because they are using that as inspiration doesn't mean everything is going to be the "ultimate" version.:whatever:

That's why I said Chameleon & Kraven. Lizard is gonna be CGI intensive($$$). Chameleon & Kraven are some of the cheapest(SFX-wise) villains Spidey has.

Just because they are using that as inspiration doesn't mean everything is going to be the "ultimate" version.:whatever:
Seriously... you don't know that.

I go with what they said are their intentions. :whatever:

I can totally see Kraven look like in the Spider-Man 3 game. I love that look of him. It's like a mixture of his classic costume and something more realistic.

Pic please...I don't play games.

So was I, and what they said was that they are using the Ultimate story for inspiration. They didn't they they were going to have osborne physically transforming into a monster, kraven as a crocodile hunter ripoff, or peter being the bugle's web page designer instead of photographer.

Kraven would be good. They need someone who can bring that animalistic tone to the character as well one who can carry in Kraven's persona.

I always thought it would be great to see Kraven and the Lizard
