First reactions to Cloak and Dagger are generally positive

Still very optimistic about this show, even if it feels like we've been waiting forever for it.

Marvel television immediately followed that up by The Punisher, Runaways, and a strong season of Agents of SHIELD. It's on an entirely different network.

No one watched or cared about Inhumans, and Marvel TV has put out quality programming since. No black cloud.

Yeah, honestly, I don't even think many people realized Inhumans existed. Hell, I had completely forgotten about it until seeing it mentioned here. Marvel's TV efforts will be fine.

I do think The Defenders killed a little momentum for Marvel's Netflix shows though. I enjoyed it but... something just felt off about the whole thing. I think it was the Hand and their plot of draining giant dinosaur bones under the city. It just felt silly.

Yeah, the new Jessica Jones season hasn't given much mention of the events of Defenders. It helps that JJ was the most incidental player in the group, with her and her supporting cast ending very much at the same point where they started. Even Luke got out of jail at least.

Punisher won back some of that good will, but I do sense the Netflix shows drawing further away from the MCU's fantastical elements.

I still have to check out Runaways. Probably when I'm done with JJ.

Given that we have a firm release date and first reviews, what are the chances of a Cloak and Dagger forum? It's even on a network that exists, unlike a certain show with its own forum

The biggest obstacle this show has, IMO is the network it's on. I don't think many associate Free Form with non teenbopper/family friendly shows and this one needs to rise above that a bit to be interesting.

Yeah, I only watch one show on that channel (Alone Together) and while I really like it, most of their other shows look like crap. I see promos for some of their other material and it just makes me cringe.

Freeform fantasy show Beyond is pretty good.

Freeform has 'Beyond' 'Shadowhunters' 'Stitchers' and coming up 'Siren' which are all fantasy/sci-fi shows. I certainly haven't watched them all (just Shadowhunters), but Cloak and Dagger seems like it'll fit right in with that block. Honestly, given that Tandy and Tyrone have always been B-level Marvel heroes at best, this is about the level of TV network I'd expect to find them on.

Stitchers was canceled and the network is still essentially ABC Family to everyone who knew beforehand and "WTF is Freeform" to everyone else.

First trailer that's actually got me excited. I have a feeling there origins are going to be supernatural based and I'm down with that. The commentary talks about "destruction and rebirth", and the "divine pairing", so there's probably some voodoo and chosen one tropes that are going to be used.

I guess it makes sense to not have similar science origins to Luke Cage and Jessica Jones.

Their powers working the way that they do and them testing them out reminded me a lot, and I guess I'm going for this because it's a recent example, of the Strucker kids testing their powers combined on The Gifted.

Tbh that's the least of my issues. And from what I understand, his powers don't actually come from the cloak, but actually from his body.

Could be wrong, but either way I'm cool with some creative liberties.

Maybe Roxxon have some kind of supernatural branch within there science division.
The "divine paring" sounds very witch crafty. However from a genetic pov, Mr Sinister looked at Scott and Jean as a genetic match so I'm not ruling out something similar in C&D.

0:21 the first word in the song was "Voodoo..". I'm not sure if that was a clue to there origins or if I'm just looking into thing too hard.

Almost all new shots compared to what was in the teaser, particularly more action and effects shots. Even got Tandy pulling her fight pose. My guess is that the teaser was mostly or all shots from the pilot, while this new spot gets to pull from the actual series.
