Code Names

Ok with popularity of the show getting higher should the heroes start to have code names like Logan is Wolverine , Scott is Cyclops and Bruce is Batman? If so what do you think should their code names be?

Heroes doesn't seem like the kind of show to feature code names. It seems like the kind of show where Hiro would suggest they have code names and the others would laugh at and/or smack him.

lol yeah, i think the only person in the group who would actually like code names would be Hiro. but then even his name is like a code name Hiro=Hero lol

Well with that last Episode and Nathan Petrelli saying what would they think of me flying? He would have to come up with a secret identity.

He could fund the group or get them into the government and make them into a Gov't supported super team aka Avengers. Or since he is trying to be a congressman and does have gov't connections he could privately fund the group like Stark.

They may not need names or costumes, but they may need alternate identiies and I see that this show is showing why superheroes need them ... Unlike Civil War.

I don't think it'll be something as comic bookish as a secret identity that puts Nathan on the team. If he decides to join the team, I'm pretty sure he'll have to be convinced that it's the right thing to do. After he believes that, I don't really see him as the masked type. He'd want people to know that he's taking a stand and believes in the cause.

Its just a bit of fun, and they'll have the same problems all superheroes have... they can't be targeted 24/7. They're not going to want to give away who they are. So I think they will need codenames when they eventually become a team, unless they are comfortable with being heroes all day and night. Hiro is apparently, then again he knew only Peter would see him... maybe in the future he wears a ninja mask. *swoons*

Niki: Kali
Hiro: Khronos
Peter: Loki
Nathan: Raziel
Matt: Synapse
Isaac: Fate
Micah: iHero... Nano?
New Radiation guy: Nukem

Codenames don't protect you from anything. Masks do. And masks suck.

Nathan could have like a flight helmet and flight leather suit or something. Whats the alternative? Everyone knowing their true identities? Because most of them aren't powerful enough to avoid getting sliced and diced while they sleep.

a much better alternative would be to dismiss all those things alltogether

Sooner or later they have to become superheroes, and they hide their identity for a reason. The fact Syler is hunting down people by their names and killing them in their homes is somewhat evident of the consequences.

have you not thought about the possibility that Future Hiro comes from a distopian future where society does not function as it used to?

I mean, New York blew up just two days ago, and Future Hiro must come from at least two years in that future

Also a possibility. In which case, they'd need code names even less, since I doubt anyone would be very interested in tracking them down because of their powers when the downfall of modern civilization is looming large.

They may become superheroes, but they aren't going to be crime fighters. Everything we're seeing is leading up to one event. It's not like they go out every night unmasked to stop bank robbers.
