Would love a Barnes and Noble.
They already over-charge for text books. So adding a Barnes and Noble would be redundant. So they could over-charge you for text books?![]()

What's next, an Apple store?
Colleges have always been a money making venture. If you want to talk about commercialism think of NYU which is slowly buying up the entire East Village and turning a great area sterile. The neighborhood is loosing it's identity, but an NYU student can say that yes, they have an apple store on campus because yes, it falls within the bounds of the college buildings.
When I was at the University of Ottawa, the campus bookstore basically WAS an Apple store. What's next, an Apple store?
Sorry for the slight derailment, but what identity is it losing? I figured that the hipster preppy *****ebag type that Apple/Starbucks attracts/spawns is the indigenous species there.
Actually, that's the indigenous species at most large universities like that, which makes this more on topic.
I don't buy books in Barnes and Noble. I sit and read.
I've been there. Had to take off my scarf because of the people there.
Does a University really need a Barnes & Noble, Starbucks, and Subway to name a few? Is this a college or a shopping center? What's next, an Apple store?
I know I should ask because you didn't explain it just so someone would be baited into asking. Why did you have to remove your scarf? Or was it too hard to explain wearing your KKK scarf around?

So do you just not like name brands because all these are essential to college students if you strip the name you have a bookstore, coffee shop and someplace to eat. Who cares if there's a name brand attached.

First off, the scarf thing is a joke, since scarfs are standard issue for the people there that fit my "preppy, hipster, etc." profile, and I wouldn't want to be like them.
Second, the KKK wear hoods, though I'm not sure why you're comparing me to them.
Third, I've been down there a good number of times, and each and every time, I make an effort to get what I need from there and leave. I really, really hate that portion of the city.
Oh I see, you think that being in The Village means you are a preppy or hipster so you must wear a scarf. I don't wear scarves nor am I any of those yet somehow I hang out over there. Odd huh.
