This FBI agent was smart enough to see that something about the killings didn't add up. He was smart enough to figure out that his boss wasn't on the up & up. He was even smart enough to find Blade. But once they left the crash site he seemed to turn incredibly stupid.

I would say when he was actually faced with the creatures which had killed his family, he was overcome with an emotional desire for revenge. It wasn't so much a failure to be smart, but rather a failure to control his emotions.

He wanted to kill the vampires because the vampires had killed his family. I think it's understandable he wouldn't be thinking with his usual intellect.

What? Collins wasn't after any vampires for killing his family. What are you talking about? His family was killed by a human-a mere mortal. And he killed that guy a long time ago. He was running around the school trying to help Charlotte's victims while Blade-who he purposely sought out for his vampire expertise-kept insisting they were beyond help.

I agree. I thought he would have lasted through the season finale.

Agreed. He suddenly stopped listening to anything Blade said and ignored all logic about vampires and got his ass handed to him.

I expected his story to go somewhere, but instead, basically, this dude was a time-waster this season. I guess they didn't have enough storyline to fill 13 hours.

They could have done so much more with him.
