Some of you might find this funny.
I was re-reading the first arc of New Avengers, and in issue #5 right before the NA get ambushed Spider-Man says (and he is rigth beside IM) "Uh... Anyone elses Spider-sense go off?" IM then says "Hmm. These readings can't be right". I think that IM would be smart enough from this to figure out what spider-sense is. So... What do you guys think about Peter wondering how IM knows about spider-sense? Continuity error?

Also, in the same issue Spider-Man says to Tony Stark "I think we should ALL get armor" to that responds "You got seven billion dollars?"

Thought that was interesting.

I'm not entirely certain what point you're trying to get at here.

Well I remember there being a big deal about why/how Tony knows about Pete's spider-sense...

Spidey's been very liberal about talking about his Spider-Sense over the past several years. How anybody doesn't know is beyond me.

Yea, I mean..It's been pretty inconsistent over time. Sometimes it appears like Spider-man actually tries to keep it a secret and other times he's shouting it out like nothing.

Personally I would rather believe that Spider-man knowing that the Spider-sense is his greatest weapon (regardless of writers forgetting it) would choose to keep it a secret.

In an issue of ASM Iron Man mentions to Spider-Man that he wants him back because he can sense the danger early. Spidey thinks to himself, how does Tony know about my Spider-Sense? Only May and MJ know about that. Hence the reason why this was brought up. That was only used as a device to help Spidey realize that Tony was spying on him too, I think.

you're right it is his greatest but most under utilzed, and most misunderstood weapon.
Writers have always been inconsistent about this power, even the great Stan Lee himself. and No one has ever maximized this unique ability.
the truth is that his spider-sense, combined with his speed, and his strength, make Spider-man the greatest fighter in the MU (pound for pound). the guy is fast enough to dodge bullets, AND he gets a warning before yhe bullet even comes out of the chamber. How can any human ever land a punch on a guy like that?

no one seems to get that.

After Spidey's rebirth in 'The Other' storyline, the extent of his regeneration ability and new powers are being tested in a lab. Spidey specifically talks about his Spider-sense in front of (and to) Tony Stark.

Not to mention Hank Pym, Reed Richards and countless Stark industry employee's.

Seriously, what exactly do the editors at Marvel do? Any other job, if you don't do it properly, you get fired. It seems that the editors at Marvel can do pretty much what they want, when they want, insofar as it serves the current story (or top down editorial mandate).

Actually, that's th' writers. Editors have pretty much been given coffee runs to allow "creative freedom". It's Joe Q's world an' we hafta put up with it.
