Who wants to be Superman!!!

...Batman?

...Ok, Spidey!

...no, Spidey before Brand New Day

...How about Hellboy?

...Ghostbusters?

...The A-Team.

...Ok, fine, a Jedi Knight. Sith?

...sigh. Ok, feel free to make your own character.

Because in the Role Playing Games, you can be whoever or whatever you want!

You may have seen the RPG forum or some of our game threads pop up from time to time, but never paid much attention before. Well, we're reaching out now to anyone who might be even a little interested, or just curious, in joining our little community of game players.

What is it we do?

Basically, we tell stories. Sometime we write on our own, and sometimes we team up with others. We write stories about characters for ourselves and others to enjoy.

If you've ever wanted to tell stories about a character you love, or you've had an idea you wished your favorite publisher would print? You can tell your stories in our forum. And you'll have an audience willing and eager to read those stories, and participate in them with you to create a world of our making.

Instead of trying to go on & on describing exactly how we work, we invite you to come over and visit some of our games and community threads. Or just ask questions here. You'll see some familiar faces, and probably meet some new ones.

Need to know what we have to offer? Allow me to fill you in...

The World of Heroes: DC RPG offers a post-Infinite Crisis look at what the DC Universe would have turned out like if written by a talented fanbase with loads of ideas and a certain creative freedom. With such pivotal moments as Season 2's Dark Alliance arc, where a group of lesser-tier villains tore right into the core of the Justice League and Justice Society to wreak havoc and change lives forever, and Season 7's Death of Batman arc, where The Joker finally managed to kill off his hated foe only to follow with a fit of regretful mourning, WOH has remained the cornerstone of the Hype RPG community since 2003 and now reaches it's climax in a history making 9th season that will result in a planned reboot, allowing new gamers to join as their favorite characters and repeat the pattern established by the game's many veteran writers. DC lives on through it's fans!

If you're a Marvel fan, we've got you covered with something a little different...

The All-Star Marvel RPG combines the flavor of the classic elements of 616 and the unique contemporary twist of Ultimate to deliver a new and unique Marvel Universe in the prime of it's infancy. Follow the early days of a tormented Peter Parker as he gradually transforms into the Amazing Spider-Man, or catch up with the newly founded Avengers as the son of the original Captain America leads a group of misfit heroes still trying to find their feet in a world of skeptic humans and a fearful populace of mutants. Only now in it's second season, the reader-friendly continuity is ready for new insights and daring interpretations of classic characters not yet introduced in this new take. It's called the House of Ideas for a reason, folks!

But let's say, for the sake of argument, that you're a fan of both companies. Even then, you might be surprised to learn of a compromise of epic proportions...

The One Universe: DC & Marvel RPG takes the dreams of many fans and makes it a reality. What if Superman could co-exist with Captain America on a daily basis? Wouldn't it be awesome to see Batman and The X-Men team-up to take on a subsequent threat? Even still, can you imagine Spider-Man's days as a teenage founding member of The Teen Titans? In One Universe, it's all possible, taking each legend from the ground up and building a universe where such storylines bring scale and wonder, not to mention in-depth development into the lives of these larger than life personas. In it's fifth season, the sky is the limit to what the future holds in store for a world where heroes and villains of all variety step on the same ground. Join now and be apart of the action!

But it's not just superheroes, folks! Our community of writers have even delved in a world from a long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away...

The Star Wars RPG brings the world of the original trilogy back to the forefront and continues off of the events of Return of the Jedi. Jedi Knight Luke Skywalker faces the potential rise of the Sith once again, and must train a new breed of those potent in the ways of The Force in order to help master the rebellion against the uprise of a new Empire. Led by Admiral Thrawn, those acquainted with the dark side bring chaos to the universe, and only Luke and his friends, along with some old and familiar faces, stand in their path. In it's second season, the "eighth" episode promises to be as wild of a ride as it's predecessor. Enlist and choose your side of The Force - as the war begins again!

Along with these, The Ultimate DC Universe RPG offers a look at what characters such as Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman would look like under the microscope of Marvel's attempt at relaunching the universe to appeal to a new and modern audience. In it's second season, the steps are still few and far between towards a universe on it's full threshold, so join now to help fit in the pieces.

Neither company is your speed? One Universe: Independents Edition may hold the key to your interest. With such characters as Indiana Jones, Hellboy, Sherlock Holmes, and James Bond allowed to roam free and amongst another's company, the game inspires inventiveness and creativity whenever possible.

And finally, if you're not even really interested in the comic book based games, but want to interact in a fantasy setting, The Ballad of Saints RPG fufills the yearn for classic settings of a Dungeons & Dragons style game. Become an Elf, a halfling, a troll, a human - even a vampire - and embark on a quest for the side of good or the side of evil in a fight for survival in the Medieval period of mankind. Having only began it's first season, it's the game most prime for newcomers and veterans alike of the RPG scene.

Bear in mind, none of these games are as confusing or intricate as your typical D&D session tends to be. There are no skill points to be had, no dice to roll, or numbered stats. These are strictly writing-and-interaction based games, allowing players to assume roles of their choice in a player friendly atmosphere and go from there. Be sure to visit the aforementioned threads and read up on the list of the few rules, become acquainted with the games already mentioned, and even ask questions to the community.

We'll listen, we don't bite, and we certainly don't judge. We just want you to be honest and take an interest in our little corner of Hype.

Well, we've had some new blood join the games, and CaH and UDC seem to have new life.

Apply now before the character you wanna play gets taken! Check out the OOC thread here.

Keep in mind there is no limit as to how many heroes/walking the line/villains we have in the game. The blank slots in the rosters is just to for show because without them the rosters would look strange. :cwink:
