How frickin old was this guy when he went "sidewalk-diving"? If he was in the Minutemen, that means he was born around 1920 at the latest...which would make him 65 at the time of his death. How was he still active/able to discover Ozy's plan?

In the comic he was born in 1924. He died in 1985 which would make him 61. He joined the Minutemen in 1939.

In the film I believe he was born in 1918. Which would make him 67 when he died.

Unlike all the other heroes forced to retire after the Keene act, Comedian and Doc Manhattan were employed by the Government. So he was still active.

Blake discovered Ozy's plan while on a plane during a mission in '85. He spotted suspicious activity on an uncharted island and investigated. Then he was traumatized by what he saw. Thus leading Ozy to send him "sidewalk diving".

can't people read anymore..?

65 year olds can still be in great shape, especially in a world with superhumans and such.

Exactly. Case and point:

i got all that....lol

i was wondering how he was able to accomplish all that (given his age), and why the feds were employing a senior citizen to do their dirty work

i was wondering the same about you. My question wasn't one of "nuts and bolts," i understand the course of the story. I was asking how a 60+ guy could be active enough to discover Ozy

Because he's the friggin' Comedian. He's worked for them for a long time, and was still physically and psychologically capable to do the job, and was probably the best person they had. It's not that hard to figure it out.

Dude, Ozymandias gets a bunch of scientists and artists on a secret island to develop an enormous alien squid with a cloned brain of a psychic so it explodes upon impact killing half of New York and uniting the world.

But the Comedian being active at age 61 is hard for you to swallow?

why don't you just stop jacking off at the altar of Alan Moore and admit that its dubious that Nixon would still employ Blake at his age

Hahaha. Nice.

Maybe if someone actually paid attention, they'd see just how wrong they are. Right? Check my posting history, I'm not "jacking off at the altar of Alan Moore", nor have I ever been. I'm only stating this because you obviously need things spelled out for you, but I'm not a mindless Moorite.

I was nice at first, and I explained it in a comprehensible manner. The reason why Nixon (on ANYONE) would employ someone like the Comedian for as long as they did was because he got the job done and was still willing and able to do the job. What's dubious is that the government would let such an obvious asset go just because he's in his sixties.

But there's another thing that's obvious. It's that you'll never get it, no matter how much it's explained, so this is really just a waste of my time.

<------ What about him? He's got to be in his fifties

:hehe:

Do you know what he was doing when he was passing through (yes he was just passing through) destabilizing the Sandinistas, though the ads suggest that he was very active in all that, it's equally likely that he was just training contras, which is something that one can do all the way into your... wait there dosent seem to be a limit on that, unless you can't speak.

And if you want to just get on the Alan Moore hating tip there are more plot holes to work with, like the fact that he drunkly stumbles In his Uniform to Molochs house (nobody notices in a town whos streets are always full), or the fact that apparently Laurie has been living with Dr.M for years but acts like she's known him for as long as we have (the whole "what do you mean.." thing on mars, seriously you've lived with this guy forever but you don't know he can turn coke to pepsi??!!)
