Would you guys ever meet up at a Con? I'm going to Wizard World Chicago this year, and someone i know from they hype but was friends with one of my bestfriends who died last month might meet me up there. If he wants to reveal himself thats up to him. But would anyone ever do that? If you saw someone you knew from the hype at a con, would you go up to them?

Or would you guys ever care to meet up with your fellow hypemates? I know if Leaguer, corp and Darth met up at a con, they'd never leave their hotel room. :oldrazz:

Any one?

I would cause im curious as to how much better looking I am than some of you guys.

Only ever go to small local cons and Heros in NC(Dumb south east ignored by every major entertainment industry) if I knew what people from the hype looked like I might say hi. Then go about my business since most on here are older than me.

I've only been to Motorcity comic con and last year i went to midohio con.

WW Chicago is next, then next year SDCC

I never go to cons because I live in Kansas and I hear everything I need to on the Hype and CBR anyway.

So you don't like buying cool stuff for cheap on sundays, or having fave creators to sign your stuff?

I don't like paying for stuff period, dude. And autographs don't excite me much.

I just find it's nice to talk to the guys sometimes. Talked to the inker of Doctor Who for 20 mins nice guy. All the big guys I never get to talk to can't stand the line.

In all honesty I may go to WW Chicago once they have a list of events and if they do, could ya post it Assasin?

Yeah, I totally get it that other people do enjoy that stuff. It's just not for me. If it was ever in a town that I was close to, I'd probably go.

I hear you Aristotle, but would you go to if Geoff Johns was there? To ask him questions about a certain character and why he is being ****ed in the ass?

Man!HAHAHA Me and my friend go to the San Deigo comic con all the time, but it to *get drunk and mack on the chicks in scantily clad "Huntress" outfits( you know the ones that actually look good wearing that stuff. I was macking on Daisy Duke form the dukes of hazard who was signing autographs once. i am pretty sure she could smell the alcholol seeping out my pores. She wasnt buying it though damn!We also almost got into a fight with the "Flash Gordon" dude from the 80's movies cause he was pissed we sat our drinks on his Alex Ross posters he was trying to sell, and asked him when was the last time he was in a flick( hey he was mean.)
it's hella fun! What you didnt think we went there for comics books and autographs now did ya?!?! HAHAHA

Nope. If an artist (using the term in its broadest sense, to mean "anyone in the creative industries") allows himself to be influenced by what a few angry vocal *****-and-moaners say, he isn't worth the paper he's printed on. If I was Geoff Johns and someone asked me that, I'd probably tell him to please **** off. "Either buy the book and enjoy it, or don't buy it," I'd tell him. When he's ready to be done on Green Lantern, someone else will take the reins on the franchise, and the treatment of Kyle will probably change.

Now maybe some far-off day in the future, if I happen to be drinking in the same bar, or somehow become a friend of the man through whatever random circumstance causes a thing like that to happen, I'd probably ask him if he at least understood what we were saying, because I expect he actually doesn't. I expect that, like pretty much everyone who disagrees with me on the Kyle issue, he doesn't really get what our problem is. He probably thinks we're *****ing because Kyle isn't the main GL anymore, or because Kyle is put into perilous situations or something. I'd like to have that conversation some day. But I'm not gonna go to a con and pester the guy with mean-spirited questions (and they would be mean-spirited), because he's doing his job the way he thinks is best.

I went to MegaCon in Orlando once. It's the only con that's close to me. It was fun (and expensive), but I had to keep all my geek moments to myself since none of the people I know in real life care about comics. I'd go back if I had other people to go with, but I doubt I'd go alone again.

See thats my problem, none of my friends like comics. If they did i would have been to SDCC since i was old enough to drive.

Over the past couple of years, the last year especially, I've "come out of the closet", if you will, as a comic fan. And while my friends all acknowledge my geekiness, they seem to be generally cool with it. And the funny thing is - I've worn them down! They're getting into it too! I think The Dark Knight made it fashionable to like comics again. And my themed Christmas of getting everyone a graphic novel went down rather well.

its me assassin is referring to... and im like 80% sure im going and since youll be the only one i know there, i plan on meeting up! i have the same problem as you and corp, im the only comic geek in my circle of friends... if anyone i talk to here on the hype wants to meet up at the con, i say why not?

Well I don't mean to ask him why he is getting ****ed up the ass I would just wonder if you went to go get a book signed, if you cared about such things, you asked him if he understood why Kyle fans were mad. I know i certianly would ask that very question just to see what he says.

I'd like to ask Johns why he and Grant are trying to bring back the silver age, and then I'd yell him to leave it alone as that time period is dead and time to leave it buried and move on.

I met up with a few Hype friends at the last NYCC

I know I just asked this over in the Final Crisis thread cuz I didnt see this one first lol but does anyone know where I can find the lineup for this year's NYC CC next week...

Plus if anyone shows they get to bash my occasional rants in person instead of just online lol...

Nah. I'd wait until after the run was long over. If even then.

My friends all know, and they'll go see the movies with me, but thats pretty much it. My cuz Simon came with me to meet BKV and he bought Pride of Baghdad and loved it, I thought that would have sparked intrest but it didnt. He was always a marvel kid growing up, and he wont read anything now because he feels like he grew out of it. i got 2 co-workers to go out and buy watchmen after they asked me what it was about from seeing the trailer during TDK.

No you wouldnt.

I yelled at Chuck Austien, then after talking to him for 20 min i said i was sorry, because he's a really cool guy and really nice about it.
