Comic Help

Mladen, why would you have an avatar like that?!

But anyway thanks for all the replies. I will take a lot of your advice. I've wrote many of the names down and i do want to get into loose issues.

Anyway - so this is the order?? = TLH, DV, Haunted Knight, when in rome?

I LoveD TLH - Still waiting for DV to come, i got a good deal on ebay for it. I think TLH is right there trying to win for (my) #1 Batman graphic novel with Year One.

Thanks again.

Haunted Knight was written prior to TLH and DV. The stories that are in it are self-contained (do not pertain to TLH and DV). Very good though.

Oh right, my bad, same style though.

Worth it for completionists?

Excellent, I may pick it up on amazon then...

Get A Death In The Family and Under The Hood Vol. 1+2, all three are excellent reads, oh and Face The Face, that's a good-un as well! Try Venom also, thats a really good look at Batman's psyche.

Couldn't agree more. I REALLY enjoyed Face The Face. Also, the Mad Monk is a real good read.

Haunted Knight is worth getting if you don't have it to accompany Dark Victory and Long Halloween. For some odd reason, Sale's artwork I didn;t care for. But Loeb's writing is very good.

thanks for all the help, much appreciated.

My money in Paypal will clear tomorrow, so i'll post here what i bought.

I just realized how many Batman comics I have read over the years. The one shot BATMAN: EGO is also fantastic. Ditto BATMAN: VENOM. Also look into KINGDOM COME for a fantastic portrayal of an older Bruce Wayne, and JLA: THE NAIL for another great Batman story arc. On another note, anyone know any good RECENT graphic novels that I should be looking into reading? I'm talking stuff released in the last six months, I've read up to about the MONSTER MEN era, and I've read the latest Dini stuff as well.

Hmmm, is Face The Face too old for you? 'Cause thats a great read. Dinni's detective stuff has been released as a TPB as well.

Back to topic, talking Justice League, Tower Of Babylon is a great look at Batman's paranoia...

Read FACE THE FACE already. It does seem like there's a bit of a drought. JLA: TOWER OF BABEL. :). Good arc as well.

Yeah, I suppose if you've read Dinni you're pretty up to date. Oooops, my bad, yeah Babel. Omac Project is good as well.

Ok i just bought this to add to my collection.

- Detective #27 reprint

- Batman year 100

- A death in the family

- Haunted Knight

- Blind Justice

- Face the face

- Dark Knight Strikes Again

- Batman #400 (Intro by Stephen King) = [i like king's work :woot: ]

- Legend of Dark Knight lot #= 2, 5, 7, 8, 12, 18, 23, 24, 50

- Batman lot #= 651, 653, 655, 656, 662, 666 (:wow: )

Woah... Good selection there. Get the Dinni Detective one shots as well!

But good selection so far, you'll be spending a lot of time reading in the next week! :)

lol yeah! The next load i want to buy basically consists of things like: Broken City, Black & White 1-3, Nine Lives, War on crime etc.

Soon i'm hoping i should have all the big, popular names out there.

Oh yeah and will surely get The Man Who Laughs on Jan 31st.

An avatar like mine!

Definitely get Under The Hood, I can't keep banging the drum enough for this story.

Otherwise, try and get some JL stuff, just as good.

thanks will do. I have been hearing a lot about Under the hood (and not just from you lol) so i will make sure i DO get that on my next buy. thanks.

Get A DEATH IN THE FAMILY if you're planning on getting UNDER THE HOOD. And A LONELY PLACE OF DYING isn't half bad either. It introduces Tim Drake.

Yeah definitely, not read A Lonely Place Of Dying yet, any good as a follow up?

No. It's good as a background/setting of the story before you read UNDER THE HOOD.

Huh, i'll add it to my list then. A Death In The Family and Under The Hood is my favourite arc in Batman.
