Diamond List for July 11, 2007

You mean the lack of inking? I actually like his Omega Flight style more than his usual contourrific style. It adds a lot of depth to his scenes, whereas his usual style is very light and doesn't really capture my eye as well.

That's what I like about his art, that it's (usually) simple and straightforward.

I don't think his current style lacks any of the clarity of his unrendered style. That's actually one of its strongest points for me--that Kolins upped the level of detail with some pretty impressive rendering while retaining that same clarity to his visuals that he had with just linework.

Or is it just the minimalist nature of his more contour-driven style that appeals to you?

FRESHMEN II #6 (is this a joke? #5 just came out!)
ANNIHILATION: WRAITH #1

OMEGA FLIGHT #4
NEW AVENGERS #32
ULTIMATE X-MEN #84 (this also just came out recently...)

Alright week, if those solicts are accurate. It is an irony that while I do like OMEGA FLIGHT, it is far more "cookie cutter" than LONERS or IRREDEEMABLE ANT-MAN yet sells almost three times what both sell (almost combined). I can definately see Marvel giving it a yearlong ongoing if it can maintain moderate sales. However, it gets mucho cred for making the Wrecking Crew a dangerous, formidable supervillain team again.

Well, The Loners has been selling out from the distributor, at least. I'm hoping that'll get the team at least another mini-series for Cebulski to write that Power Pack arc. I really want some canon Power Pack action. :(

"Selling out" simply means that all the orders that were phoned in were bought. If stores worldwide order, say, 13k copies, and Marvel sells all those, it has "sold out". even if that number is small. THE LONERS sells within the #120's in the Top 200, which for a Big Two book is death. One of Marvel's editors in the bootleg NJF's noted that THE LONERS is much like AGENTS OF ATLAS in that it's sales didn't justify an ongoing, but Marvel plans to keep the team "in circulation" via other appearences and whatnot.

Speaking of which, I want more Agents of Atlas, too. In 616 continuity, too, not that Marvel Adventures nonsense.

Marvel sucks. :o

Huh. The only thing I've heard of is the Avengers/Agents of Atlas crossover one-shot, but that's lamentably in the Marvel Adventures continuity, with the lamentable Marvel Adventures Avengers, Storm and Giant-Woman and all. :o

Now you're just throwing random words in with "the all important inking process." :o

Leave him alone. He has no taste.

He should at least have some tasteless logic.

"Taste" and "logic" are not two words I'd use to describe Darthphere. :o

They're two parts of words I'd use to describe him. ;)

This whole thing took a weird turn when you include the all important inking process.

Nothing. Where's Morrison's Batman?!:cmad: It must be the inkers fault.

Corpy, this is special reprints of all the Civil War tie-ins and Civil War itself in chronological and continuity order for all the noobs reading comics. There's like 3-4 issues in each one.

Ah, then I probably won't even bother to flip through it. Thanks. Saved me, like, 3 seconds next Wednesday.
