It's a discussion board. We all have different opinions with people defending or attacking a particular subject they believe. Like I said start your oown positive thread, you'll get plenty of contributions I'm sure.

Ofcourse, when a film is discussed people with contradicting opinions will show up in that thread, and it usually ends up in big discussions, with people defending their opinion on the film with a dose of needless swearing and ad hominems; I'm used to that. It's the nature of these internet boards it seems. What I'm against are threads like this, that starts out with negativity and can't draw any reactions besides negative ones. I really don't see a point in that.

i really noticed that a lot of people come and say ''hey you remember this movie that made tons of money and a lot of peolple love it? well hey i dont like it. ''

so what? really i dont get whats wrong with having an opinion. but if a lot of people like a movie that means that a lot of people like it. doesnt mean its good or bad. it means that a lot of people like it.

and i am not talking about only matts thread. i am noticed this in the last 6 months.

In all honesty, I think we look at this genre of films with tainted eyes.

after this large period of time, the comic book movie is still very much seen as a joke genre for geeks and kids.

Even the very best of it (or some may say), spidey 2 and the dark knight (with iron man in there) are all fairly average films (as an art form) in comparison to everything else out there that's ever been made.

They all do deserve the criticism they get and we should be trying to really go mainstream, not as a niche but the big returns should be reflected with a higher interest in people buying the source material rather than killing an evening with the kids.

However we have a tendency to be complacent and feel we should be greatful for anything we get in the first place so suck it up.

I hope after the avengers, we get a ten year break from superhero films so writers can regroup, the bubble can burst and everyone can start from scratch again.

I agree that our opinions are a bit tainted. A lot of these forums would shut down were it otherwise. I don't want a 10 year hiatus, though. Maybe they should slow it down a bit, to where we're not getting 5 a year.

I admit I created a monster with the "Movies You Hate that Other People Generally Love" thread. But I didn't think people would come in and hate on classic movies and new greats.

To add to this thread I will say the Harry Potter movies, the Ocean movies and the Bourne movies. I like the Bourne movies but not that much.
