I went to load a game onto my computer and it said it can't find the D:\ drive? What can I do to fix it?

I take it your D:\ is your cd-rom drive yes? Is the game your trying to install a DVD-cd?, most new games are, and if you dont have a dvd-rom you wont be able to play it. (check on the cd it will say dvd somewhere if it is)

Can you see the drive on my computer? Either the cable has come out, or its packed up...

sometimes a simple reboot can help with this. If not go into your device manager and see if it's showing there.

Or is it just refusing to read that disk?
Have you tired it on another pc?
Have you had it on that pc before?

For the last one i had a game which had a simular problem and it i was trying to put it back on, but it had messed up my registry so i fixed that and the game worked....

I've tried rebooting and still it didn't work. I trying to install Star Wars Knight's of the Old Republic 2. I've had it on here before. How dod you fix the Registry.

With care :) with out looking at your pc i have no idea. Sorry. Could be somthing else though, just saying thats what i did with mine.

Only mess with your registry if you're a confident computer user. Does your dvd drive work with other disks?

Won't work with anything

Just sounds like its packed in then... anyway you can take it out and test it in someone elses system to make sure?

- when your PC is booting, enter into the BIOS (read your user's manual if you don't know how to do this)

- if your CDRom shows up in your BIOS then it's probably a driver problem, otherwise your drive is probably toasted.

Some viruses can screw up your computer seeing your CDRom too. Are you running virus protection?
