Comedy Conan on TBS

Caught up on the Watson bits since I've missed most of the shows this week. Funniest stuff on the new show.

Martin Short is still funny after all these years...he can never die.

Nice to see Martin Short again after his seclusion ended.

Tu 2/22: Matthew Perry, Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino, Jason Aldean
We 2/23: Jason Sudeikis, Brandon T. Jackson, G. Love
Th 2/24: Stephen Merchant, Kumail Nanjiani

Mo 2/28: Fitz & the Tantrums
Tu 3/1: Nick Griffin
We 3/2: Chelsea Handler, Anthony Mackie
Th 3/3: Emily Blunt, Martha Stewart, Taio Cruz

Damn....no Jim Carey. He would have fun with Conan.

And Paul Rudd has a few movies coming out in the Summer, maybe he comes on Conan? Also, I'd expect Tom Hanks to come back later in the year to promote his movie with Julia Roberts (which means that Conan will probably be on Telemundo).

This thread is so Resting in Peace...:cmad: but NO MORE!

I see that Dolph Lundgren made a cameo again. He was on this week in another brief skit. Conan needs to give him a damn interview. He did one skit (or two?) on the Tonight Show with Conan, and now one on CONAN on TBS.

Don't die thread, don't!!!!

Well, I found this exciting: I just read Pee-wee Herman's going to be on the show on Wednesday. There's no way I'm missing that.

thank god I taped the episode with Emily Blunt cause I laughed so hard at Conan in that hat and Emily's husband storming on set and yanking it off and smacking with it and walking off. if i would have laughed at 1am when I would have watched it when I got home from work at midnight I would have woken up the people below me (they work days).

I don't know if it is the format of the show but the long monologue and the short skit before the first guest is just not working for me. I miss the Late Night days when he would do a few jokes and then do a 5 or so minute skit. I don't really like the long monologue and the 1 minute skit like angry birds/tyler perry row whatever/etc before the first guest comes out. I dunno...to me this show just isn't as funny as it used to be. I find myself clicking over to The Daily Show more times than not.

Peewee better be amazing because that was 20 minutes down the drain.

Wow Conan's audience was full of idiots tonight.

The fact that they kept giggling whenever Edmund Morris said something that sounded somewhat suggestive was embarrassing.

La Bamba has me in stitches.

Maybe, but it made for some funny moments for us viewing at home.

Wow Conan's audience was full of idiots tonight.

It was an odd change from Peewee herman's antics to a discussion with Edmund Morris.

The audience must have been fidgeting in their seats for something outrageous to happen.

I think some people assume Conan has off the wall stuff 24/7

I agree with chaseter about the segment in between the monologue and the first guest. The monologue should be cut down in favor of a five minute skit for the next segment. He's done a few on the new show and they were great, like when he visited the wax museum. We need more of those kinds of skits.

They only have so much money, so they can't do as much. The forumlaic stuff is getting kinda tiring, but at least the guests have been solid.

Oldman was great. I laughed me ass off when Conan was waving the baby head on the stick around.

This week he is doing prove me wrong skits. They last like 1 minute and they are so unfunny.:csad:

And yes, all of Conan's greatest stuff are the longer skits like when he goes to the wax museum, visited the WB animation studio, the baseball skit, triumph, etc. Oh well:csad: There isn't a money issue. He can do stuff like new state quarters, new characters, new mascots, etc. like he used to do. I know he can't do that exact stuff but he can match it. I know it doesn't cost much to make photoshop quarters.

:awesome: at Frankenstein appearance.
I know I was so excited to see him.

I KNOW :awesome:! I REALLY hope we get the return of "Frankenstein wastes a minute of our time" :)

NBC owns that specific character but they do not own generic Frankenstein as that is public domain I think. So sadly we won't be seeing Frankenstein wastes a minute of our time or any other of Conan's past characters:csad: I guess he could buy the rights but damn I bet they are expensive. Maybe they could do different Frankenstein skits that were not done on Late Night because as I said, Frankenstein isn't owned by anybody.

Mo 3/14: Adam Sandler, Donald Glover, Guster (R 1/10/11)
Tu 3/15: Javier Bardem, Rashida Jones, Steel Train (R 1/11/11)
We 3/16: Ricky Gervais, Kaitlin Olson, Cheap Trick (R 1/13/11)
Th 3/17: Larry King, Shaun White, Iron & Wine (R 1/24/11)
