World Conclusion to Spider-Man: The Animated Series

What do you guys think? Although I don't think it will be anything amazing since its a fan film, I'm excited for this.

Sara Ballantine is reprising her role as Mary Jane Watson from the animated series, though she is only doing the voice. Jessica B. is doing the visual performance of the character.

It says the "lost episode" was supposed to be released in June 2012, but its not on the site. Here is the last update:

It seems interesting, but I really wish this was made as animation instead of live action. So there are not updates for this?

I agree. But either way, I'm excited to see some sort of conclusion.

Oh, I had to check the date of the video, I thought it wasn't that recent. So things are moving on! That's great, I liked a lot that animated series. Let's see what they cooked up. Wasn't the ending had Spider-Man travelling back to the Victorian England to save Mary Jane from Carnage who was somehow impersonating Jack the Ripper? Wonder how they are going to achieve this on live action.

Its such a shame the show got cancelled. The very end of the series (late season 5) really started getting good, especially with the Secret Wars and the whole plot with the Beyonder and multi-dimensions.

I'm very fond of this show, I used to watch it a lot back then. A few years ago, they displayed a rerun of the show on a channel in my country, I managed to watch it at last in the proper order from beginning to end. It was great.

I love how they used metafiction in the series. One of the Spider-Men was just the voice actor who plays Peter Parker (Christopher Daniel Barnes), who comes from our world. When Spidey got to meet Stan Lee, I had chills running down my spine. The series finale would have been perfect if it didn't have a cliffhanger. But at least they hinted towards the fact that Spider-Man was going to find MJ eventually. Madame Web tells him he deserves that happiness or something along those lines.

That episode was very special for me, because when it was the first time I saw Stan Lee. I agree, it was the perfect ending for the series.

I was getting worried because season 5 had some of the worst episodes IMO, such as the Forgotten Six, and Electro being the son of Red Skull. But then they also had some of the best, such as The Secret Wars, and then the finale.

Actually for me, this was my first exposure to Spider-Man, so I didn't mind those changes. I was very young, and all my basic knowledge of Spider-Man derives from this. Seeing it back now, I realize it is flawed in many regards (Spider-Man doesn't throw punches!), but I still like it a lot.

Funny thing is that, in the version I watched, the dubbing had the Hobgoblin named Green Goblin (El Duende Verde), during the first seasons. Later on when they were paired together, they called the Green Goblin right, but Hobgoblin became the Orange Goblin (El Duende Naranja). And though they called the Green Goblin right when he appeared, I was so confused, because for me, Hobgoblin was the Green Goblin. And other translation errors, like calling the symbiotes "clones" in some episodes. It was weird, and even I knew it back then.

I started my knowledge of Spider-Man with this animated series, and then got into comic books. When the movie came out, I became an even bigger fan.

Yes I know, but apparently the dubbing studio didn't, because they called Hobby the "Green Goblin", and when the Green Goblin appeared, they called Hobby "The Orange Goblin".

I think I read that the first writers wanted Hobgoblin to appear first, and then when they switched writers, they already did character models for Hobby and templates for the action figure, so they introduced him first or something like that.

Did Spider-Man actual refer to Hobby as "Green Goblin" and later the "Orange Goblin?" I have to re-watch the series again so I can look out for these little details.

Oh sorry, I meant in the dubbed version I got. I'm from Mexico, and while the voices were good, some folks at the studio mistranslated some stuff, leading me to a Goblin-Confusion.

Oh that makes sense. That happens a lot with dubbed cartoons. I always find it better to watch in the original language with subtitles, though it can be hard to find that sometimes.

Haha maybe. To get back on topic, I wonder what direction the fan film will take considering how the series ended.

I'm really worried about the production value. Because those first glimpses showed Carnage, and it would be really tricky to make it work, along with all the dimension jumping.

Well, it is a fan film after all. There will be very low production value, that is a guarantee. If this was an official film, then I would be concerned. Just glad someone is showing their interpretation of how the series ends.

I think it's on a good path, because they said they studied the series and talked about the intended resolution. Now we play the hard game of waiting.

I hope it comes out soon. There is another fan film for TASM coming out in June I believe. Little things to hold us off until TASM2 comes out.
