Confirmed - Bioshock on PS3!

In a recent interview conducted by Gamepro, Ken Levine, one of the developers working on the game, Gamepro asked him if the game would ever be seen on the PS3, he did not confirm nor did he deny the possibility of the game going on the PS3.However, he replied that “Right now are focused on the X360 version.

LEVINE: Right now we’re totally focused on making the game for Xbox 360. Microsoft has been a great partner, we love the platform, and we get to make a PC game as well. That’s great because we come from the PC side, but right now we’re focused on getting the game out the door on the platform that we’re on and that we love.

And finally, when IGN sat down with former Microsoft Executive Peter Moore in an interview, and asked him about their game portfolio for this year, he replied:

We do a lot of portfolio planning, not only with first part, but also with third party. On top of those this year both BioShock and Splinter Cell 5 are exclusive to our platform. And also having power of a franchise like Grand Theft Auto day-and-date [with the PS3 release] on Xbox 360 helps enormously as well. Yeah, you have to do a bit of portfolio planning, but it’s a high-caliber problem to have.

While nothing has been confirmed yet so except “right now”, we may very well be seeing a confirmation somewhere next year about Bioshock on the PS3.

OPM had a preview for Bioshock in their second issue too, I'd love to get it on PS3.

The developers of Mass Effect said they'd bring that to PS3 if enough interest was raised too.

I don't doubt that Bioshock will make it eventually, but Mass Effect is an impossibility. I'm pretty sure Bioware can't put out those games without Microsoft publishing.

Agree. The idea that he didn't say it wasn't comign to PS3 means absolutely nothing. It honestly reminds me of the 3 Blind Mice from Fables. "How do we know this is the way to the Farm? Well, nobody told us this ISN'T the way, so it must be the way".

If anything, those articles prove that Bioshock probably wouldn't come to the PS3 for another couple years anyway since they aren't developing for it in any way.


While It would be cool as hell to get Bioshock and Mass Effect for the PS3, I am definately not holding my breathe.

I can see Bioshock going on the Playstation 3, simply because they're published by Take-Two, but hell will freeze over before Mass Effect appears on the system.

It was announced for the PS3 at first, then it became a 360 exclusive. He didn't deny anything. Hideo has denied everything. There is a difference.

Oh God. Bioshock has never been a Halo type exclusive. They agreed to make it exclusive for the 360, but they never agreed on whether or not it is timed. It could very well be a timed exclusive and the PS3 could receive the game in a year or so. Moreover, if someone were to ask you...


"Are you making this game for the PS3"

and you were to give a "no comment" answer, would that not sway you towards believing that its exclusivity might not be permanent? Look at Capcom, they said "we have no plans of making a 360 version" which is even more direct than what these guys said. Look at what happened.

If I'm the typical Xbox 360 owner, I'll look at the $60 bucks in my pocket and decide between the two. Then again, you prolly already ordered Halo 3, so why get Bioshock now and then play Halo 3 later? I'd get halo 3, finish the campaign, then buy Bioshock. Wait a few months to recuperate, then get Mass Effect. When does PGR come out?

September is a great date. That and November. December is always great for Nintendo people. For some reason, Sony has done well in the past releasing in Spring, so we'll see if they can follow. But yeah, I'll be back in college, so I won't have time to be playing..like 4 games simultaneously. My roommate has both systems, so I'll probably play Halo 3 online and Ratchet on the weekends. I also really want GT5 Prologue for some reason.

The developers of Mass Effect actually said that? We do know that they have confirmed that they are working on a PS3 game, everyone just assumed it would be a version of Dragon Age.

The 'Bioshock on PS3' rumors have been around for a while, when Bioshock was still early the developers said 'So far we've only announced it for the 360, but you might hear more around November'. So we never heard anything. It's possible, by peter Moore's wording, that Bioshock is a timed exclusive. Interesting that he would make such a potential slip up and Bioshock and Splinter Cell.
