The Avengers Continuity of the Movies Leading Up to The Avengers

So Banner was brought into the "Super soldier program" but was given the task of focusing on gamma radiation resistance as opposed to the serum itself?

Right .... It was called the "bio-force enhancement research project" .... Serum and Gamma were two different aspects of it.

Captain Americas missions were top secret. people know of cap, but they do not know what he did, therefore he became an old war story, remember the kids reading the captain America comics in the end?and the Titanic was found. As far as the public knew, cap was just a propaganda tool.

This.

Look guys/gals the Super Soldier Serum experiment must have been highly classified knowledge, it wasn't public knowledge. If you see the end of the Movie Tommy Lee's character gives Agent Carter, Steve Rogers' TOP SECRET FILE.

The general public was probably not aware of Steve's SS status and either recognized him as either an actor or a soldier, except his higher ups and his crew of special mission soldiers whose only directive was to take down Hydra.

Well, he did receive a medal (which was obviously as publicized as his Captain America image), but ya the whole super soldier aspect of him was definitely top secret.

I still don't understand what it matters though to all the other stories.

I don't know that if he was running secret missions, it would have been wise to make him a public figure.

I'm sure other soldiers, other than his crew, saw him in action and told of his legend and I'm sure his enemies put the word out, but he must have become a myth since no one could prove anything.

There were tons of people in attendance at his medal awarding. So they knew he was a soldier, they just didn't know to what extent his abilities were other than he rescued 400 people.

What I'm saying though, regardless of stories that may have been told by other former soldiers, there's no point in the other tent poles where it would've made sense to have someone bring up Steve Rogers or Captain America. TIH went as far as it needed to go by involving the serum. There's no need to bring him up in Thor. Nor is there a need to bring him up in Iron Man.

I don't remember the scene, after which battle did it occur?

I can agree here.

Does Stan Lee's cameo ring a bell? "I thought he'd be taller!" .... it was after he rescued Bucky and the rest of the soldiers.

I thought you meant something else. I don't remember the scene that well, but there seemed to be more military than anything. There was however reporters there so...who knows how far they would have taken it?

lol; speaking of Stan Lee, I'm surprised that no one...even a troll, has brought up the fact that Stan Lee is within all of these shared franchises, thus disrupting the continuity.haha

Right off the tip of my head, I would say that General Lee from CA is the Grandfather of the Stan Lee from Iron Man 1 and 2, who had gone to New Mexico to lift Thor's hammer, before becoming hospitalized by Banner's Soda Blood.hahaha

Stan Lee's character not only gets around, but he's somehow managed to figure out time travel. Maybe he's the villian the Avengers are going to be facing in this film. ;)

It just makes all the failure to hold a suspense of disbelief by some people so freaking ironic.
