The Avengers "Correct" viewing order of movies up to The Avengers?

Nick Fury if this movie happens, this will serve as the very first movie in MCU's films

Your phase 2 is WAY off. They are already in order. It's been said in all of the films how long it's been since The Battle of New York and Marvel has said it's all real time (i.e. The Winter Solider taking place 2 years later). Darcy and Jane commenting on SHIELD showing up in TDW proves as much. In addition to that, Agents of SHIELD depicts IM3, TDW, and TWS as happening chronologically.

Honestly, I don't even see how one could say otherwise. It's not up for debate (unlike Phase One)

That is most certainly not the "Official" order (there is no way Winter Soldier is before IM3 and Thor:TDW). Official order is release order. Chronological order, in the case of Phase 2, is also release order. Agents of SHIELD helps solidify this

Iron Man 3, New Years Eve party is December 1999 going into the year 2000, the bulk of the film takes place 13 years later. December 1999 + 13 years = December 2012 (approx. 6 months post Avengers)
*Personally I ignore the date on the newspaper the kid hands Tony as newspapers can make typos.

--- Agents of SHIELD episodes 1-7 happen some time (months/weeks?) prior to Thor:TDW (first episode indicates that Extremis and it's instability are known about - indicating it starts after the events of IM3)

Thor: The Dark World takes place at least a year after Avengers. Darcy mentions it's been about 2 years since the first Thor movie, and knowing that Avengers happened a year after the first Thor movie (personally, given that I doubt there's a full year between episodes 8 & 16 in Agents of SHIELD, I'd say that this also happens more in 'real time' - so maybe a little closer to a year and a half after Avengers - and so is in late fall-ish 2013)

--- Agents of SHIELD episodes 8-16 (ep. 8 showing team dealing with the London cleanup. Ep. 16 beginning to bump into events of Winter Soldier)

Captain America: The Winter Soldier is approx. 2 years post Avengers (via interviews indicating it had been a couple years since Cap was thawed and Scarlett mentioned in an interview the film takes place more in 'real time')

--- Agents of SHIELD episodes 17-22 (dealing with fallout of Winter Soldier)

Guardians of the Galaxy takes place at some unspecified point in the Earth year 2014 [BLACKOUT]Peter Quill is taken as a child in 1988 and the rest of the film takes place 26 years later, ergo 2014[/BLACKOUT]

in every franchise, whatever the chronological order, I always follow production order.

in Cinema (also TV), it's not necessary to see things and events as they happened in time, watching some events and then in another movie you know the origins, is something exciting. Same goes to filling some mysterious gaps in a movie produced later.

Yeah because TFA shows at the beginning where Cap crashed and the entire movie is a flashback. I see it that way too. but the TECHNICALLY mrkgkaye, You would start With Thor.
Odin and the Asgardians are shown coming to earth, and in the Book Erik finds at the library it SHOWS Odin coming to earth and bringing the Tesseract to Earth.

What? Watch Thor but not Captain America? On the very least watch the first half of the film. Thor 1 was nothing special, some even argue that it was the worst of the bunch, while i don't think so, it definitely wasn't worth watching 2 times. The 2nd film wasn't that bad, the final battle was kinda creative and had some fun with the usual destructive battles, having read the script before watching the first film, i remember being quite bored with the comedy, didn't feels as much the same way with the 2nd film, even if there were some cringe worthy moments.

I enjoyed the first Thor when I watched it. It had this exotic, epic, foreign thing going for it while simultaneously spending a lot of time in a nondescript small American town, along with the peak of human power (the US military) investigating something beyond their control. I liked the mix. I liked the battles with the ice giants and that world, it was different from what I had seen before. I also liked how they set up the family politics on Asgaard, Thor and Loki are basically Lear and Gloucester from William Shakespeare's King Lear, which many people argue to be the greatest piece of writing from the greatest English language writer to have ever lived. They lifted from something good. There were also some funny jokes that were in character, like Thor breaking his coffee mug.

It may have also benefited from low expectations in my regard, as I had read many times that it was mediocre.
