Cop Shoots 8th Grader After He "Charges" At Cop

If the city police had more of a budget he probably would have used a taser. But, then again, it would still be in the news that "A Cop brutally tases a 14-year old boy."

Yes. Cops may post on the Hype, but not THIS cop. I'm sure our cop posters have more than enough common sense not to shoot an 8th grade kid for a simple school yard brawl.

Execute by definition means to terminate. Murder in any way, be it justified by law or by wrong doings is to terminate someone's life. The title was in no way misleading, but whatever.

What's the big deal?

Also, "scaring him" and "charging at him" are two entirely different things. When you're being charged at, you know you're in danger.

The first title suggested some poorly-trained, eager-to-draw cop shot some innocent kid in the face after he innocently jumped out from a bush yelling, "boo!"

The new title more accurately represents the situation.

The situation was exactly that. The cop lied. The autopsy shows that. It was an eager to draw cop shooting an innocent kid. That's plan and simple what it was.

Slow down. The kid was not innocent. Its not like this officer just found a kid playing hopscotch and shot him.

According to what I have read (not just this article) this cop was a problem. He had issues with paperwork, following orders and such. Thus, he should have been disciplined before this ever occurred.

But again, to say he shot an innocent kid is inaccurate.

The kid got into a school yard brawl. What kid doesn't at some point in their life? To shoot a kid for something as trivial as that? Yeah. The cop's more in the wrong in this situation. He might be on the perceived right side of the law, but in this case he was absolutely the one at fault.

Again, lets not state the cop's mentality.

Its not like the cop saw him hit the other kid and decided, "I must execute this child for this offense." Because this happened right in front of him, he told the kid to "freeze" and the kid began to run. When this happens, the adrenaline rises a bit and it does create a more dynamic scenario.

The cop gave chase (which did go against the order from his superior). Finds some people nearby scared to death because some kid just jumped their fence and hid in their shed. He goes to check it out and then he fires a shot. If the kid did charge him, he wasnt as close as the officer said. Again, it certainly looks like the cop made a huge mistake. But, it doesnt mean that he set out to kill this kid because of the initial offense.

Please understand I am not justifying the officer's actions. There is enough evidence to show that he disobeyed orders even chasing this kid. I am just trying to point out that some people here have posted things that make it sound like this cop just had to kill the kid for getting into a fight.

Execution is a punishment for a crime. If someone was sentenced to death, you wouldn't say they were murdered.

Or if someone was killed in a car accident, you don't say they were executed in a car accident.

The Cop murdered the kid in my eyes. Thats execution to me...

It doesn't matter if it was murder "in your eyes", a thread title referencing a news story should make some attempt at objectivity/neutrality.

And the kid was not shot because he punched someone, he was shot charging at a police officer.

If you're dumb enough to A) punch someone right in front of a cop, B) run from said cop, C) trespass onto someone's property and hide from the cop in their shed, and D) come charging out of the shed at an armed cop who's already chasing you, you essentially committed suicide with your own stupidity IMO.

It's like seeing a charging bull and running full speed at it and taking a running jump onto its horns.

Looks suspicious to me. I'd love to know what really happened.

I know. I was just saying. It wasnt directed at you, but I did use your post.

Sorry for the mix up. :D

I think the cop is lying about the kid charging at him. I wouldn't put it past him after all violations. I think he was mad for having to do some work and he's lying to save his job and his ass from going to jail.

Yeah the cop definately was looking for blood that day. This is probably how it went down:

The cop woke up crabby because of heavy drinking from the night prior, all of his work violations have had him stressed out so he's been drinking heavily. He goes to make himself breakfast, then realizes he has no milk left. Not a good start to the day.

He goes into work and gets a call from his girlfriend, she tells him that she slept with his best friend. He calls her a ****e and throws his cell out the patrol car window. At this point he is highly upset. This just so happens to be around the time he sees a bunch of kids getting off a school bus and sees a few punches being thrown. He thinks to himself "...oh good, I could use some killin' today." He runs towards the kids and one of them takes off running with his pokemon t-shirt while giving the cop the finger. He thinks to himself "Not on my watch!" The cop pulls out his gun and turns the safety off, because he's ready to eat some souls. The kid pops out of the garage, running at the cop screaming "Okay I give up!!" The cop smiles and pulls the trigger. Then breaths a sigh of satisfaction.

The End.
