Corona and other diseases

Of course they did. I expected all of that

My state Ohio reported the lowest rate of new cases in almost two months, but Governor DeWine and Health Director Acton are "concerned" about a possible uptick in some regions including Dayton.

The article was from may 30th but was accurate. Latin america is being hit hard, we don't even know the full extent. They are only doing limited testing (not really their fault as tests cost a fair bit) and only counting deaths of those that tested positive before they died. They don't even have records of excess deaths. Brazil is suspected to have at least 2.5 times as many deaths as officially reported, putting it on par with the US.

Yeah. Unfortunately it sounds like it could end up being the hardest hit part of the world due to all those factors combined.

We are still at the beginning of the pandemic. It has a long way to go yet. It is starting to take a real hold in india, bangladesh and pakistan now. Just as they are feeling lockdown fatigue. Think they will be the hardest hit.
African numbers are building up but they have a very young population across the continent and their population isn't anywhere near as dense so hopefully they are not too badly effected. Although an economic collapse could see many starve.

Went out just a little bit ago this morning. A majority people aren't wearing masks unless they're going in somewhere that requires them to.

Our dudebro assistant manager (who, big surprise, likes Trump) is currently on vacation in Florida with some of his dudebro friends where he intends to hit some bars, get drunk, and get laid.

He’s already a Door Dash driver all over northeast Ohio in his spare time.

I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t leery about his return.

Same here, a lot more people not wearing masks...makes me want to punch people even more.

One of my senior friends is getting a little comfortable. She wanted to go for sushi with me and my 9 year old. I told her the last thing I want to eat during a pandemic is sushi. She says she feels she's safe and doesn't have it. I know an epidemiologist that is just not going to take extra precautions, she's also a senior. She says if she gets it she gets it.

I have another senior friend that only just left her house last week since it all began.

All very well educated women. All with different ideas about how they want to deal with it.

As far as I'm concerned being a black female, I have never been treated with respect in a hospital. I'm not sure my survival rate would be good based on past experiences. I've worked in long term healthcare for close to ten years, so I'm pretty well versed in the system. They hate to see it.

I still eat sushi all the time. Probably my favorite food and don't think I could ever stop eating it. Especially breaded sushi rolls

Is anybody really eager to go to a theme park after all this? I’m sure some are...but are most people?
