Corona and other diseases

In one of the rare instances of Fox doing good, they did have the perfect representation of why we are screwed.

He says he was tested twice and came back negative both times.

The continuous coughing is a little unsettling though.

The point wasn't that he had Coronavirus. It was an example of someone sick infecting someone else.

Second case in Santa Clara, California, same county as the first person who got it from an unknown source.

Yeah it's pretty much all over the place now. Except Antarctica. If a ****ing penguin gets it we know something creepy is going down.

This is like in The Walking Dead when it was revealed they all had the zombie virus regardless of being physically infected

As a severe germaphobe, this is my worst nightmare! I know most cases are mild, but still!

Then again, more people die from the flu.

I think the biggest concern isn’t the fairly low death rate but how contagious it seems to be.

20% of people in the us get flu every year. So yes it kills a lot more. The death rate for flu is 0.1% or 1 in a thousand. Corona is 2% death rate or 1 in 50. So lets hope it doesn't spread as much as flu.

Guys... It's a hoax.

A hoax that they are totally preparing for... By putting in charge a Born Again whose head was so far up his own ass he literally created an HIV epidemic in his home state.

Also despite it being a hoax they want credit for doing something about it.

Scary how easily and quickly it spreads, especially with how much people travel nowadays. All it takes is a virus that mutates and is much more deadly while still being as contagious, but with symptoms that take long enough to come through that the infected have time to spread the disease unknowingly. Something like that could kill 70% of the world’s population. If this one is dealt with it will be a good wake up call so we’re prepared for a worse one in future.

Conspiracy theory states that is what it may be lol, like a bioweapon.

As someone who doesn't follow the news, and doesn't know much about this virus (and so what I think may lose all and any credibility) but I think it's just the media and governments blowing something well out of proportion.

Pretty sure that more people die a year through a severe case of the flu than there are dying from this.

I think they likely are but it is also a real threat if it mutates and becomes more lethal. That is the real threat. It still has a relatively low fatality rate now but that can change.

To put it in perspective: America’s flu season toll: 18K dead, 32M sick and this is solely in the United States. Whether this coronavirus spreads to be that contagious is still up in the air.

Which is why it's best to already start working on something now before it gets completely out of hand. And to also make sure everyone can get it, not just people with money.

Might be a dumb question, but we hear the news about it spreading rapidly but has there been any talk for like an antidote for this thing?
