Corona and other diseases

Good example as to why people shouldn’t watch Fox or CNN. They will always paint whatever narrative pushes their current agenda giving little to no respect to the other side of fence. Those two networks are more dangerous to our society then any virus or vaccine.

At least in my corner, mask mandates have been lifted, but choices now come down to the establishments and individuals. Honestly, I feel that's how it should be. On occasion there'll be a person here or there who mentions they've been vaccinated or ask if they need to wear a mask for comfort's sake around someone else which, while annoying, I get, but again, I think that approach could work in lieu of another potential lockdown.

Unless Omicron spreads like wildfire, which doesn't seem to be the case right now.
The problem is individuals can't be trusted. Let's consider you, who admitted that against a mask mandate, you decided to not wear one, putting others at risk. Choice for individuals with no empathy, is why we are still living in a pandemic.

Blanket statements like that are one of the reasons why our society is so divided at the moment. Masks or no masks are not the reason we are in this pandemic. There are a lot of variables as to why this situation is still going. Some of them genuine, some of them science, some of them political, some of them financial. No disrespect intended because that’s your opinion and but essentially saying we are in this situation because of people not wearing masks or eluding that those who don’t wear them have no empathy is just a divisive statement. It simplifies the current state of affairs by placing the blame on a specific group of people.

Again, just my two cents.

What a BS statement. We are in this position because people refuse to do the right thing. There is absolutely zero reasons for there to have ever been a controversy over getting a vaccine, self-isolation, and wearing a mask. It becoming a game of politics and people being vindictive *******s or gullible idiots does not change reality.

There is but one true statement. Anyone not willing to get a vaccine, wear a mask or self-isolate when appropriate lacks empathy. They are terrible human beings, cowards, and are a part of why we have had to bury 700,000 Americans and counting. This never had to be this bad. Never. And those ****heads are a big part of it. Because they look at their fellow human beings going through hell, and all they can think about is how to be as terrible as possible.

Not going to argue or debate your feelings on this because you have your line drawn in the sand with how you personally feel.

I will say though …I work in one of the larger hospitals in New York. Have for the past 10 years or so. Again, I’ve been exposed to both sides of what’s going on right now. Pro vac , anti vac and everything in between.

I worked on the day when employees (nurses/Doctors/techs/environmental services/security and on) lost their job and some escorted out of the hospital for not getting vaccinated. Some had very legit reasons for not wanting it whether it be medical/religious and what not. Those same people were also in the trenches and have been for years and years helping patients even before Covid and straight on through Covid. By your logic, you also bunch those people in the category of cowardly and so on because they aren’t vaccinated and yet in one of your posts say people “lack empathy”.

Everyone is free to feel, think and for the most part express their opinions about whatever they want. I hope we never get to a point in society where that’s not the case even though some days it feels as if we are. So I’m not knocking you or anything for your thoughts on this subject cause I’m
sure you’ve done your research and aren’t speaking out of your *** like some do. All I’m saying is, I don’t feel that bunching everyone into one category, generalizing and labeling everyone helps.

I know plenty of those employees that chose not to get vaccinated and have seen them through out the years do some amazing courageous things working in the hospital….far from cowardly ****heads as you put it.

A bigger issue to me is the main stream media’s role in this. Far too many people follow along with the CNN/FOX agenda and narrative (not saying or assuming you do). They simply take a story and alter it to pander to whatever audience they are speaking to at that moment and….we as a society just blindly go along with it.

Unless someone is exempt, wear a mask. It really is THAT simple.

At no point during my message did I say don't wear a mask. To make people feel more comfortable and emotionally secure by all means wear a mask. At my facility we wear them and I can only speak from my experience there. For the most part we are wearing them to make the patients feel more comfortable. We understand that the regular common everyday mask that everyone is using and sold on the street does little to nothing in terms of what the general public is attempting to use them for.

Again though, if wearing a mask creates emotional security and reduces your mental stress being in public then by all means wear them since anything that reduces anxiety is a valuable tool especially nowadays.

See, you say I'm putting others at risk, but neither you nor I know if anyone around me is vaccinated or not. Considering it's a work requirement, I can confidently say that most, if not all folks in my immediate vicinity are vaccinated and some even do still wear masks. Not to mention you've still got people who are vaccinated testing positive for covid.

I get people want to blame the maskless as an easy scapegoat why we're still in this, saying they're cruel or have, in your words, no empathy- hyperbole and all that- but I'm pretty sure viruses don't care whether you've got a mask or don't. Or maybe you don't have as much faith or trust in individuals as others do. Understandable, I'm sure. That's absolutely your call and no one can take that from you, but some are a bit more trusting than you and aren't going to keep wearing a mask everytime they step outside because they're speculating on some "What if" scenario that might not happen.

I tend not to watch much CNN, but though it trends towards sensationalism in order to drive ratings and advertising dollars it's still at the core a news station. FOX has always been, ever since since it was a twinkle in the eyes of Roger Ailes and Rupert Murdoch in the wake of the Nixon resignation, a Republican propaganda outlet.

I'm sure there are some truly amazing unvaccinated medical professionals who are able to go about their duties without causing any risk whatsoever to their patients by making use of social distancing, masking, telemedicine, daily testing and what have you. But the mandates aren't for them, are they? The mandates are for the folks who don't give a flying fu** about the health and well being of others, the human excrement who have played a ginormous role in burying 777 million Americans and counting due to their callousness and/or abject stupidity.

And PLEASE can we stop with the "both sides!" nonsense regarding CNN & FOX? Whether you agree or disagree with its inherent biases, CNN is a news channel. FOX is not and never has been.

Smart man.

Most of my “news/current events consumption” comes from smaller independent entities scattered through out YouTube. I tend for the most part to stay away from CNN/FOX as much as possible. For me personally, I bunch both of them in the same category at the end of the day though. I don’t see any difference between the obnoxiousness of a Don Lemon/Chris Cuomo or my least liked…. Hannity. There’s just way too much violence inducing messages from both sides when they are attempting to push their narratives.

To this day I still remember Chris Cuomo actually uttering the sentence during the riots of “Who says protest have to be peaceful?” Messages that go like that without consequence are one of the reasons the county is in the gutter. I will agree that Fox is more guilty of those misinformed violence inducing messages then CNN but CNN doesn’t have a halo of their heads like many make them out to be. Not even close.

Im not disagreeing with you on your stance regarding CNN or Fox. I’ll reiterate that I don’t listen or watch either for the most part. Sensationalism is extremely dangerous and both of those networks are guilty of that. Obviously Fox is the bigger culprit and worse offender of the two…..but I just feel there are better more well informed ways of getting your media/news consumption then either one of them.

Just heard that. Sounds like it's going to be hard to keep this away like the delta.
